Currently just using an old Dyson V6 Motorhead to do carpet, old broom and dustpan for the tile. I have 2 dogs, one's got a case of THE BIG SHED. I'm in a <1000 square foot house, so battery life will be fine for my purposes. Don't care about too many bells and whistles, mostly just want it to be good with a higher pile standard carpet and with tile and to handle dog hair and be reasonable with how long I go between dust bin emptying.

Having replaced a lot of our carpet with laminate we opted to go with a smaller cordless vacuum for our casa. The animal really sucks.....in a good way! I mounted it in a broom closet. When I need to vacuum I just grab it with the appropriate attachment and go to work. I initially gave it four stars...

I have 1000 sqft of carpet and 1000 sqft of tile that I broom. We have 5 giant dogs. I got the Dyson Animal upright vacuum because I thought that it would keep up with all of the dirt and pet hair but I kept ending up with suction issues and clogs and electrical issues. A couple trips to the vacuum repair shop later and it had a new vacuum head from a third party that was .... horrendous....

Canister way too small

I bought my old vacuum(s) before I bought my 90 lb bulldog and...after a couple months it was clear they couldn't keep up. This vacuum DEFINITELY has amazing suction and got a disgusting amount of stuff up off my floor. However, it definitely wasn't made for binge-vacuuming. The canister is tiny and...

I also took the nozzle directly on this rubber mat with holes meant to trap litter pellets, and the suction was so strong, it picked up everything with one sweep. I filled up a whole bag and then some at their house. . Since the vacuum is white and shows dirt easily, when I'm done vacuuming I like to take the nozzle to it and all of the parts, including the roller brush (cutting any long hairs that get wrapped around).

Became unusable after 3 years (2 year warranty)

3 stars = 5 stars for 2 years + 1 star for the next 1.5 years.

I liked this product and it made life a lot easier for about 2 years. I also got a discount since mine was damaged in the mail (i.e.the package had completely come apart). Dyson support was nice enough to replace one of the vacuum heads...
