 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment.  It'S not like the foam that you would use for your backpack uh straps, it's like a very thick foam, and so they they sent me these, and i actually was able to do the install myself to upgrade this original backpack to be capable of handling a lot More weight and to just improve the frame and that's cool, i think it's important to reuse. You know products like this and to turn them into more functional, updated products when we can so we don't just throw out perfectly viable and useful backpacks and other type of hiking this one. So that's it! That'S my review of the bag. I think it's a great backpack, i i think it's um worth checking these out

 If you want stuff that needs to stay absolutely dry, this is a well protected area for your important documents and things like that. This bag has been incredibly comfortable.  It opens on the back and you get full access to the whole bag here in the back, and it has a little special feature called the origami compartment here, which basically allows you to turn some storage space into camera space or, like I said, storage space, and You have more volume for other stuff in the back. It'S it's very shallow, I'm an Olympus ambassador and I shoot with Olympus glass, of course, which is small lenses and they fit in perfectly. But if you have slightly bigger lenses, you'll end up putting them in sideways. Like this, I know that for future versions of this backpack there will be it'll, be slightly deeper and then normal full-frame lenses will also fit in upright or the general full frame lens will fit in upright

 They're not just smaller and larger versions of the exact same pack. There are some differences. this one has a laptop compartment on the front. This one has it inside

 They both feature this top flap drawstring top system and then they both have space down in front of the box that actually holds the camera gear and so with compression straps on the sides. Again, this is true for both models. You can stuff the pack as full as you need to and then cinch them down, throw a tripod on the side, and and make it work. Of course, made out of, you know, ripstop nylon

 Back panels are very similar with this sort of ribbed material. It's very comfortable. The biggest thing that I like about the the suspension system here is the waist belt. Now a lot of packs have waist belts

 just like any other outdoor pack you'd expect. They have the same suspension system for the shoulder harnesses here which is great. They both feature internal metal frames which again standard for hiking packs to help distribute the load of the pack down onto your hips rather than on your shoulders. They have or this one has an adjustable velcro thing for adjusting depending on your your torso height which is great can you get a good fit

The main laptop slot easily accommodates my 13" laptop AND my laptop tray (which is thicker than the laptop itself), so two laptops may be doable, as long as they're not massive. And with that said, i have the smaller 22L version, which is an inch shorter and an inch less deep (same width). [Black Ember Shadow 26L](https://blackember.com/products/shadow-26)

 And honestly, Black Ember really doesn't offer any other colorways in general except for their forge pack, which they've released in like a camo multi-cam version, which does look pretty nice, but all their other bags are all black everything. It has a really, really nice and sleek aesthetic. when it's on your back, it's something that, especially if you're a commuter going on a train bus. Any of those things, it's gonna stay pretty nice and flush against your back

 Let's jump right up. As usual, we got all black everything and the shadow pack is not actually offered in any other color way.  within the back, it's made out of a micro Hex Htx which stands for high tenacity three layer waterproof textile and this is a proprietary Black Ember textile They've been using for a couple of iterations of their bags and when you use it or when you feel it, I should say on the Citadel R2, it has this more kind of matte look finish to it, whereas this is a bit of a deeper black and it feels a little bit more like kind of a baggy material even though it is still kind of that same material or the next evolution of that material still maintains that waterproof i don't know seal within that three layers somehow, which is fantastic. I've got all my cables, all that cable management, my mouse, extra hard drive uh, brick if you will for wires all stuffed in here and again, it just closes with this magnetic compartment. This has one, two, three, four, five, six different compartments that you can put things in, so ultimately has a ton of organization in it. It has this nice accordion fold to it, so it stretches out out really nicely across this top portion of the bag

Oftentimes it's really hard to have the top portion of your bag stay full or keep things at the top of your bag, and this is a really simple and elegant way that fixes that

 Card number two is the shoulder straps sort of pull out like this a little bit and it can be a little bit awkward of a fit. It's not my favorite, it's not like super noticeable, but just sort of worth noting. And Con number three is that the front pocket is a little bit loose. Uh, things are likely to sort of fall out and scatter amongst this compartment, so definitely be aware of that so you're still here and you're like Erin

 I'm a big fan of the comfort, but I would say I think there's a little bit of room for improvement. We'll cover that in the back section of this review. And while this is the 22 liter, there is also a 26 liter and both sizes come in black or camo and the price will end up running about 200 to 250 Usd depending on the size and the color. The style style's not going to be for everyone

 Just the Cpl line, the Civic Panel Loader line. It is what I think is kind of like the maybe the class leader for this type of bag in my opinion from my use cases.
