I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that.  Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. I would recommend cabinzero 40L military style and use a laptop sleeve.  it carried a 15inch laptop, 13inch laptop plus 2 cameras and lenses plus documents and things for 2 years.  It was on average 17+kgs when I was carrying it as carry on.  Plus they are from the UK so shipping should be a bit better for you

Hi All, 

I am thinking of buying my first "proper" carry on bag since I am fed up of wheelies and small laptop bags, so ideally I will incorporate everything in 1.

My "ideal" bag should be

1) not more than EUR 150 (if possible)

2) I am a software dev and I can work remotely, so ideally have good organisation for techie stuff.  Most important is that my laptop is secure enough and padded (which is putting me off the Osprey 40 at the moment)

3) Ideally good size not to check it in, but just carry it as a normal carry on.

4) Not lower than 40L

I have already checked some bags however I think they are quite expensive for what I am after, such as the Nomatic (the one I like the most), Minaal 2.0 and the Tortuga Setback.

I set my sights on the Osprey Farpoint 40 since its quite reasonably priced, however I was put off by the laptop sleeve being in the front of the backpack, which means less protection. I already have a shock proof laptop cover, however read some bad reviews on the laptop sleeve for this bag.

I must also say that I am in Europe, which I think limits the selection quite a lot (do not wish to pay extra taxes on shipping from America)

Any suggestions?

First "proper" bag

Looks like it’s too big for an overhead carry on bag. The ergonomics look weak and it’s not all that light: a Cabin Zero Classic 44L is over 8 ounces lighter.  There are good duffle bags in the 40 liter range of the same weight at 1/3 the cost. I don’t get it

Saw this pop up on my Insta feed today…looks like they drew at least a little bit of inspiration from Outlier Dufflepack + SDR Traveller.

Thoughts?

Seems pretty bulky to me but surprisingly “cheap” for a Dyneema bag.

  Locking both sets of zippers only requires one lock as you can align the zippers next to each other on the L or R side.   Other Cabin Zero products have the suitcase opening you desire but have inferior hip belts (IMO); this model is clamshell.  

I am looking for a high quality backpack that is :

* the maximum size possible in the plane cabin
* very confortable shoulder and hip straps
* breathable back
* well balanced for a man
* practical pockets (without laptop one)
* hidden pockets for valuable things
* lockable et solid zips
* water resistant (don't need waterproof)
* no more than around 1.5kg empty
* open like a suitacase
* discreet style

Which one would you recommend and why ?

Best cabin size backpack ?

For a bag i would look for one with minimum weight that can still fit all the things i want to bring, when you have a 7kg limit, eating up 1kg for your empty bag is too much, since you will not be carrying your bag around too much you can get a 32 lt cabin zero, they are light and just a big box made of fabric, they are comfortable enough to carry for a short distance. Packing cubes are awesome but they do add some weight, they are not absolutely necessary especially if you don't need to pack - unpack too often, so i wouldn't use them. Your laptop is way too heavy, if you have a smaller 13" ultrabook or something similar that is closer to 1kg it would be better.

Also it's not just a matter of fitting everything in the bag but also of how much your bag can weight when using it as a carry on. Since you visited Asia, carry on restrictions are similar in Europe, under 7kg, under 38lt (depending on the bag, but a 38lt cabin zero is near the maximum for carry on size), if you are flying Raynair you will have to check your bag, no way around it i think.

If you are going hiking you will be walking through high grass that is super wet especially in the morning hours (best time to hike) even when it's not raining so keep that in mind and stay dry! (consideration for your second pair of shoes, your ultraboosts will be soaking wet in this case)

Hey guys, I'm looking for advice for a carry-on-friendly bag for digital nomading in Europe and ideas for my packing list.

I'm starting with Greece this winter and planning to travel for 1-3 years. I'll be doing the max ~3 months per country.

I traveled in Asia for a year with a 22L backpack (it was very full though and I had to bring plastic bags on the way back), so I think a 35L may be enough. 

I won't be using the backpack that much in between flying, mostly to carry my laptop to a cafe. I plan to go to the beach, do some hiking here and there, but no hardcore outdoorsy stuff.

Here's my packing list so far:

* 15.6 inch laptop (lenovo e560, weighs 2.4 kg), small wireless mouse, charger
* ~5 t-shirts/henleys, 1 shorts, 1 swimming trunks, 2 sweatpants/formal pants
* Wearing sneakers (ultraboosts?) + bringing 1 pair of shoes (for European winter?), and buy flip flops or something when I'm there 
* ~5 underwear, ~5 socks, sun hat/cap (optional)
* 1 jacket, 1 midlayer (hoodie or sweatshirt)
* toiletry kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, etc)
* possibly an electronics kit (for wireless ear buds, phone charger, power bank, adapter)
* possibly a wallet. Dunno why but I don't like wallets and have traveled without one but I imagine a decent quality one would make it easier to access/store my passport, tickets, etc. on the go.
* possibly 1 book and small journal
* watch, pen

Do you think this will fit in a 30-35L backpack? Any specific backpack suggestions? What about versatile shoes or any other items I should bring? Packing cubes, worth it? Thanks!
