Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Cotopaxi Allpa 35 L Travel Pack - Del Dia

(1/1)

I also carried it around extensively and it did not cause any discomfort. It is important to pack the backpack evenly and to place the heavier items on the right side (side that closest to the back). I would recommend this backpack for trips lasting less than 5 days because I don't think the backpack would be comfortable if packed to capacity.

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Compartment

Cotopaxi Allpa 35 L Travel Pack - Del Dia

(1/2)

Another plus is that even if the main compartment is almost completely full, this pocket it still usable. We can’t say it’s completely liter independent because we did notice that if you really jam-pack that main compartment this one will be ever so slightly affected.

Carry-on

Cotopaxi Allpa 35 L Travel Pack - Del Dia

(1/2)

The Allpa is a 35-liter, carry-on compliant pack possessing many great features and design elements. Weighing 3lb 7oz (1560g) and measuring 20 x 12 x 8in (51 x 30 x 20cm), it’s on the heavier side of things compared to other bags with the same capacity—though it isn’t egregiously hefty. Much of the weight comes from the sturdy materials Cotopaxi chooses to use: TPU-coated 1000D polyester makes up the front of the pack while 1680D ballistic nylon comprises the side, top, and bottom paneling. This combination gives the Allpa a toughness that’s hard to beat

Bigger items, like shoes, pants, and sweaters will have to go into the larger compartment on the right.

Strap

Cotopaxi Allpa 35 L Travel Pack - Del Dia

(1/1)

I am a 5'4 lady and the waist strap didn't tighten down enough to provide any weight distribution/support. The sternum straps came off a few times but they're easy to clip back in. Just inconvenient and surprising. I had the backpack straps tightened down almost as far as they could go and they would slip and lengthen as I walked
