Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Deuter Aircontact Lite 60 + 10 SL Pack - Women's

(1/1)

Unfortunately, I had to go for another brand, the Osprey Aura 65 because I have issues with weight around my shoulders. The latter had a little more cushion in that area, but so liked the the Deuter too. In the end had to go with comfort. Every"body" is different

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Deuter Aircontact Lite 60 + 10 SL Pack - Women's

(1/1)

I did extensive backpack research, shopping, fitting, and test hiking - and in the end this pack was my winner. I just got home from backpacking in the High Sierras of Yosemite and I was comfortable and confident in this backpack the entire time, whether on ascent or descent. I had wanted to love a different pack (the Osprey Aura ag 65L) because it had all the features I loved, but in the end my boney hip points did not love that pack - or any other pack I tried and tested. My hips bones always screamed after only 4 miles, they felt rubbed raw and would bruise terribly
