I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

 It goes all the way down in the front here, so you reach all the way down into the front of the bag. Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. Comfortable to carry and the air system for your back work perfectly, the only drawback is, if you aren't using a bladder system taking the water bottle from the side pocket without removing the backpack can be a little challenging.

Futura Pro 40 SL Pack is perfect for a multi-tude

There are three main features that really
stick out about this pack. You have got a

lot of ventilation, air comfort. You have
flexible carrying comfort. So the pack moves

with you as you move. And that includes the
hip belt. You have got a floating, movable

hip belt. So let’s turn the pack around
and take a look at the suspension. It is the

part of the pack that carries the load and
really supports the weight of the pack. And

the suspension sys-tem here is Deuter’s
Air Comfort Future Pro suspension system.

You can see that there is a big mesh panel
right here on the front. This is the part

that will come in contact with your back.
And there is plenty of comfortable ventilation

there. So as you are moving, you are doing
aerobic activates, you are out there on the

trail. This is going to keep you nice and
cool and it is a trampoline style kind of

tensioned back panel. As you can see, I am
pushing on it in different spots, so this

is going to move with you and kind of contour
to the contours of your body. So it is going

This panel right here that connects the shoulder
harness to the back panel is extremely flat.

And that is really comfortable. There is no
spots poking out. There is nothing that can

really come into contact with your back there
and cause a hot spot or cause something to

be uncomfortable or cause any chafing. So
this is something that I really appreciate

about this back panel. You have got some cut
outs there. So it is going to be extremely

breathable on your back and on your shoulders.

The shoulder harness itself is not adjustable.
So it is sewn in to that fixed point, but

you do have really nice load lifter straps.
These load lifter straps are going to accommodate

torsos of about 14 and a half inches up to
18 inches. So this is the SL version. That

stands for slim line. So any Deuter pack that
is the SL version is meant for smaller frames.

This shoulder width is a little bit more narrow
or closer together. The shoulder straps are

more contoured. And the shoulder straps are
a little bit shorter to accommodate those

So this is kind of the women's specific version.
Talking about the shoulder straps, the padding

on there is really, really nice. It is going
to contour to your body and it is going to

move with you. And then another stand out
feature is down here on the hip belt. This

is Deuter’s Very Flex hip belt. And the
big stand out feature here is that, as you

can see, it kind of floats there. So it moves
up and down. As you move, as you hike and

climb, your body is going to move and your
hips are going to move independently of your

spine and this hip belt is really going to
move with you. Again, that cuts down on hot

spots on your hips. The hip belt is extremely
padded and, again, contours to women’s frames.

So this hip belt is going to keep you really
comfortable for long, long days on the trail.

There is some other quick features here. You
do have an adjustable sternum strap. That

sternum strap is flexible, so as you breathe
it is going to offer all of that support that

you need there, but it is also going to move
a little bit there with you.

This is hydration compatible. A two liter
bladder is going to fit in there. And you

can route that to either side of the shoulder
straps. And then you do have some pockets

down here on the hip belt. So you can store
small items that you want to get your hands

Also the rigidity of this pack is really nice.
You do have a really lightweight frame here

in the back. This is a spring steel frame.
So you can kind of see it there. It is behind

this back panel and it offers rigid support.
So it transfers the load of the pack right

down onto your hips, right where you need
it. So all of those features offer just a

really comfortable, really ventilated ride
for the backpack.

We will take a look at the pockets here and
all of the other features.

Starting up here on the top you do have a
top lid pocket. I have got a couple of maps

in here, some extra fuel. This is a medium
size pocket to store some items you want to

Turning the pack around you have got stretchy
pockets on either side and they are pretty

deep pockets. So I have got some tent poles
stored in here just to show the depth of this

stretchy pocket. You have compression straps
on both sides there. ANd then I have got a

water bottle on the other side just to show
how that pocket works.

Behind that pocket you do have a really nice
compartment that runs up the side of the pack.

This pocket is pretty deep. I don’t have
anything in there right now, but this is a

bellows pocket. So you can have some more
organization with this pocket, but if you

are not using it, it tucks away really nicely.
It is a really clean design. So if you don’t

have this packed out completely, you don’t
need that pocket. It is tucked away and it

This is a top loading pack. And this lid here
does float up and down. The lid is attached,

so you can’t take the lid off. There is
a small pocket right here underneath of the

lid. That this a hidden pocket. And then you
have access into the main body of the pack.

I really like the way that this collar is
designed. It is really big. It allows you

access to all your gear there on the inside.
And then you have access to your hydration

system as well and the hydration is sold separately.

Moving down the pack here the very clean lines
on this pack. I really like how stream-lined

and simple it is, while you also get these
loops for trekking poles or tools. You can

lash things to the outside of the pack as
well.

You do have this other pocket down here on
the bottom. It is your sleeping bag com-partment.

So really easy aces into that pocket. And
another thing that adds a lot of value to

this pack, you do have a zippered compartment
there. So you can keep items down here in

the bottom away from the main body of the
pack. But if you need to access some items

into the bottom of your pack, you can do that
here. Or if you have bigger items that take

up the entire pack, you can zip that away
and have access to that. So it adds a lot

You do get a rain cover included with this
pack and that is down here on the bottom.

So you can see this little tab says rain cover.
You can access that rain cover with that zip-pered

pocket down here on the bottom. It is tucked
away really nicely, so when you don’t need

it, it is hidden away. But it is custom built
for the pack. It stretches over the pack really

nicely and while we are down here, this material
on the bottom of the pack is extremely durable.

So they try and keep the weight down, lightweight
materials in the rest of the pack, but down

here on the bottom you have got very durable
materials. This is the place that is go-ing

to come in contact with the ground. So this
is definitely a durable pack. It is going

to last a really long time. And with all of
those features you get some pretty good organiza-tion,

really clean lines, clean design and an extremely
comfortable back panel, extremely comfortable

padding on the shoulder straps and the hip
belt.

This pack is going to be able to handle anything
you throw at it. It is the Deuter Futura Pro
