Comfort
Atlas Packs Athlete
Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.
Eagle Creek Convertabrief Briefcase
Very comfortable, has handled brief walks in rain well. Usually fits under airplane seat.
Compartment
Eagle Creek Convertabrief Briefcase
You have another zippered pocket that sits on top of this one that works well for flatter, more frequently-used items, whether you’re using it as a spot to stash some snacks, a wallet, or even a small notebook.
Carry-on
Eagle Creek Convertabrief Briefcase
Bought last November, have used as carryon bag for 17 week long work trips since then, including 6 weeks longer trips outside the USA. I load it up & always carry as backpack, no signs of tearing or fraying so far. Very comfortable, has handled brief walks in rain well. Usually fits under airplane seat
Size
Eagle Creek Convertabrief Briefcase
This bag has both however the dimensions are far too big. Doesn't fit well under the seat in front, questioned for size as a carry on plus roller board, and bigger than the width of the roller board. Also the material was rubberized. Please please bring back the smaller bag with improvements (pocket closures that work with vertical carrying as a back pack)
Strap
Eagle Creek Convertabrief Briefcase
The shoulder straps are pretty simple overall. There’s a decent level of padding that provides enough comfort when we’re wearing this thing as a backpack, and nice mesh lining to keep us well-ventilated. They don’t feature any attachment points or elastic keepers, so you can’t take advantage of any external storage or manage any dangling excess strap, but they’ve worked well overall.
