Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Fjallraven Kanken Pack

(1/1)

This completely and totally fit the bill. It is light, it's roomy, has ample space for large items, sections for small items (without the buckle, zipper, fastening issues), and as if that isn't enough, the little narrow shoulder straps which look like they would cut into your shoulder are strangely comfortable. So far it holds everything I need, it's low-key and looks cool without being in-your-face-designer-obnoxious, not to mention that it's a comfortable solid backpack. I can't recommend this highly enough

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/1)

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Fjallraven Kanken Pack

(1/1)

Straps were initially a challenge to adjust, mostly because I kept thinking they were more complicated than they were. Like others said before, side pockets are too small for a standard water bottle, but could probably hold something on the smaller side. I initially thought the little foam slide out was packaging, but no! It's extra support and doubles as a little seat when you're hiking. I'll update my review once I've worn it a little longer

Fjallraven Kanken Pack

Considering how massively popular these bags have become in recent years, we were expecting that percentage to be a bit higher. But hey, what do we know?

Size

Fjallraven Kanken Pack

(1/1)

This bag is so small that it's almost useless. It's literally the width of two Camelbak Eddy water bottles. I know this, because I bought two of those water bottles and this bag at the same time. So if you plan on carrying anything larger than what could fit in a cheap lunch bag, do NOT buy this backpack

Strap

Fjallraven Kanken Pack

(1/3)

In fact, this feature actually became more frustrating as this snap fastener would have come in handy to keep the excess straps from dangling around.
