I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Best Mirrorless Camera Bag? Atlas Packs Athlete Backpack

 I hiked for a few hours through some steady rain and had no signs of water on the inside. If you are making the switch from a conventional type of pack and want something lighter, this pack is it.  The main compartment has plenty of room to carry everything I need to be very comfortable, even in winter time, for me and my Dog. The zipped pocket inside where the frame is offers some extra organization as well for flatter/less bulky items

 Hip pouches are a decent size, great for holding small items you may need while hiking. The mesh pocket on the front can actually hold a decent amount of stuff as well, good for stuff you may need quick access to, like water filtration, poop kit, first aid. and of course more straps along the front to secure gear down to the outside of your pack if you need to.  The general comfort of the pack is just awesome

THIS IS THE BEST BAG I'VE USED. I PUT EVERYTHING I HAD IN MY OTHER PACK AND THERE IS STILL CRAZY ROOM LEFT OVER. WITH THE ADJUSTABLE BEST AND ALL THE LOAD LIFTERS. VERY COMFORTABLE AND NOTHING HURTS EVER

Very lightweight and well made. I do wish it had one feature: needs a zipper at the bottom of the main storage area to access from below. On my recent trip with this bag several others in my group has this feature and it was very handy. Otherwise a good solid bag overall

 I really felt restrained in the pack, straight-jacket like. I tried and tried countless combinations of adjusting the various straps, but could not find a comfortable fit; lots of neck and shoulder strain. I called customer service at Granite Gear, asking if maybe I should have ordered the Regular. She said no, a regular would be too big and would want to pull away from me

 I continued giving it a try, and noticed that the sternum strap rests at my neck, not even close to the sternum area. This confirms to me that the pack is too short. I'm betting a Regular would have felt better, but it is way too late now to do an exchange. I think the key for anyone ordering this pack is to be wary if your torso size is right on the line between the three sizes

 Since I never got a pack that fit properly I might be incorrect, but I really disliked how even when I placed the pack on my hips by lengthening the straps (maybe this is how they expect you to "size" it?) all the weight went into my shoulders as the pack sagged backwards. Padding at hips was not all that comfortable and back plate texture was weird/not comfortable. Looks cool, but for $200 it was poorly designed.

 Measured for the real iliac crest and got the short pack. Turns out, the sizing for mid-pelvic area is what they base the torso size off of, so back it went.
