Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Gregory Kalmia 50 Pack - Women's

(1/2)

I also really appreciated the big pocket on the front of the pack. The location and size of all the store felt really thought out and made getting snacks or items needed items quick out of my pack while hiking.

Compartment

Gregory Kalmia 50 Pack - Women's

(1/1)

The sleeping bag, side and back compartments offer organization without compromising the streamlined feel of the pack--no snagging on brush! The harness and belt easily and fully adjust to my body size and are easy to readjust in the field as my pack weight shifts along the course of a trip. A small detail worth noting is that the male and female buckle ends are color coded--subtly, but also enough that you're never fumbling with incompatible pieces.

Strap

Gregory Kalmia 50 Pack - Women's

(1/1)

I’m 5’4 145 I got a xs/s the pack fits good, and carries a 20-30 pound load well. My only issue is the shoulder straps started to hurt after 20 miles, I think they need to be slightly wider.
