Comfort
Atlas Packs Athlete
Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.
Gregory Maven 45 Pack - Women's
This was the first bag that was really truly comfortable for me. I ordered an XS-S and the adjustable sizing meant I could make it sit properly on my hips and feel like I wasn't constantly being pulled backward by a too-big bag sitting way too high on my shoulders.
Hiking
Atlas Packs Athlete
I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

The rain cover, adjustable lid, and ample lash points mean this pack is just right for my needs for extended day hikes and overnights. It's overkill for a day hike, but I like the suspension and the flexibility of having a single pack.

I'm 5'2" so most backpacking packs, ones big enough to fit enough for multiple days camping/trekking, aren't built for my frame.
