I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

 It goes all the way down in the front here, so you reach all the way down into the front of the bag. Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. How to Choose a Hiking Pack | L.L.Bean

- So the most important thing
when you're picking out a pack

For a day hike, my go-to
pack is the Stowaway pack.

so it also comes with
a sling and a hip pack,

You can literally use this to do anything

from going to the beach,
going to the trail for a day.

which is one of my favorite things to do,

you're not gonna wanna
wear your hiking shoes

once you get there, so it's
nice to also have that pocket

You have your little keyring
there, so you don't lose those.

And then, the Stowaway family
actually stows into itself.

So it's something that you
can keep right in your car,

or in your purse even, and
bring it with you anywhere.

Our Ridge Runner 30, makes
a great multi-day pack.

You wanna really keep your multi-day pack

and it actually has this
nice mesh that keeps the pack

so that you can keep
little things in there

There is a ton of space
in these 30 liter packs,

you need to pack everything,
but the kitchen sink.

For a long expedition, you
really wanna have a pack

'cause the cushioning on this is amazing.

You have the lumbar support
on the lower back, here,

and then you also have this
nice ventilated cushioning

to the bottom of the 70 liter
pack to get your raincoat out.

You actually have two
different water bottle pockets.

The 70 liter pack is really
gonna be the go-to pack

One of the benefits of

there are a few things that
you wanna keep in mind.

you're getting the right
size bag for your trip.

This is gonna be great
for a multi-day hike

or a longer adventure, if
I'm able to pack lightly.

They are cushioned which
is awesome, and ventilated.

You wanna make sure that it
sits right above your hips.

The whole point of the
shoulder and hip straps

are to redistribute the weight
from your back to your hips

because your hips can help
balance you out a little more.

and lead to a safer, more
comfortable hike anyway.

What I love about this pack
is that I can get right

into these pockets with any
little things I might need

And then you wanna just adjust
it so that it's comfortable

You definitely wanna
put weight in the pack

and when the hip straps
sit right on your hips.

Once again, the things
that you wanna consider

when you're buying your pack
for your next adventure.

Think about, are you going on a day hike,

are you going on a multi-day
hike, or a really long trek?

 So, let's actually load this back up again, i want to see how well my camera bag slides into this, so i just put in the computer. Obviously here's my camera bag slides in there a little tight at the bottom there. This is a pack, that's fairly narrow. It holds it, though, holds everything pretty nicely and, most importantly, let's see how it feels on my back

 I could even put my keys in here if i wanted to so i love having these open top mesh pockets along the side. There is also a slash pocket here and it moves over to where there's mesh on this side - that's kind of funny, because i would imagine that sometimes i'd want to keep something in here. That was a little more secure. Maybe my wallet - and i wouldn't want people to see that my wallet is - is actually in this this compartment, but nonetheless this is a pretty useful compartment to have on the outside here lash points here for hiking poles or ice axe, although i doubt you're going to Be using this kind of pack climbing ice balls, a compression straps now the in this case you can see these compression straps are the kind of compression straps

 So, let's take a look: here's a 15 inch macbook and it fits in here - it's sort of ideally suited for this. It'S too bad that they didn't take this clip here and have some little slot into which i could hook this and then prevent my computer from sliding out, although i have to say, because it's a neoprene, it really holds in there quite nicely. So i doubt it. It'S not just going to fall out which is kind of remarkable because of the neoprene all right, so it fits at 15 inches

 You can see you have a gusseted pocket, put any number of things in here. My guess is i i could put some charging blocks, cords, etc, um just nice to have that potential for organization there and then on the back here you can see. We have a couple things going. We have a little velcro hook like thing, i would call it for a hydration bladder, which you could choose to put into this place for your computer or for your hydration bladder or you can put your computer

Review of LL Bean Ridge Runner 25L

 I got in this bag, I'm very satisfied with the quality of it. I'M very satisfied at the comfort of it, I'm very satisfied at the holding capacity of it. So in general I would give it two thumbs up again. This is my opinion, but it's a great bag

 I tend to use this more if the bag, you know, if I have a little more weight in the bag, I'll tend to take it out again, like I said not so much for load bearing, but just to keep the bag snug to my body. So it's not rattling around so much all over the place in the back here it's got a nice spongy kind of vented a little bit fabric, which makes it quite comfortable on the back. It does have little grooves, which I'm assuming would maybe create a little bit of resale circulation, but not all that much, I'm pretty sure. In the dead of summer you are gon na sweat with this bag, but it does have a very comfortable spongy backing onto this

Well, there you have it folks, my thoughts after a year of use of the LL Bean continental rucksack one thing I failed to mention and when I was doing a little bit of the descriptions of it is on each corner wherever there's a like a stress point: Everything is nicely reinforced all corners of the pockets and, like I said after a year of use, there is no. There is no fraying

 I believe you can get this bag somewhere between 120 and 140. You Canadian dollars, so it wasn't too too bad if you compare them to the the canvas or the wax canvas bags on the market and it held the quantity that I wanted to to to haul around with me. I didn't want too big of a bag so that you know walking around in the woods became it became uncomfortable. I wanted something that was still pretty manageable, that had a nice comfortable carrying system which this bag does so everything that I wanted in a bag

LL Bean Continental rucksack "After 1 year" review

 Again this is, i think, 33 liters, 50 liter bag would make a lot more sense. Um now the other thing, i'm not crazy about dave cannonbury brought this up in his video. If you watch that of this bag, is they kind of cheaped out and they went with these tiny snaps on the outside here, and i mean i don't know these may last for years. As far as i know, but i think the pack overall would have been a much better pack had they used the bigger heavier duty: uh plastic, whatever these are called snaps here, um side release

 Let me go through this with you, though i'll kind of show you what's in it and specifically, what's not in it, it's packed fairly, full right now so right here, we've got the clean canteen and the cup. The pouch here is so snug. It'S again it's like. Could they have added like a quarter of an inch of fabric and made this fit better yeah? I think they could have so

 I got this new with tags off of ebay and somebody. Maybe they got it as a gift or something for a 70 bucks, but um i don't know, i don't feel like i've really got that much stuff. I mean it looks like a lot of stuff sitting here, but it's not really that much stuff. It kind of covers the 10 c's and maybe a couple other comfort items um

 What'S lacking, there's no space for a jacket, there's no space for a vest. There'S no space really for long underwear base layers and additional shelter type stuff, for example like a sleeping bag or even like a snug pack, jungle blanket some kind of warming layer. So you know the issue is that this bag? It'S it's pretty bulky. You know for 33 liters, i think 33 liters
