Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

I'm a total convert to a swivelling hip belt now. You don't realize how much it improves comfort until you try it.

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Mountain Hardwear AMG 55 Pack

(1/1)

Bought this pack for a season of alpine guiding on Shasta and the Tetons. So far the pack is amazing besides one thing, the sizing. I’m a size 29/30 waist and the S/M waist belt is to big for me.

Strap

Mountain Hardwear AMG 55 Pack

(1/1)

Just a quick note on the shoulder strap discomfort. I experienced the same issue as others as the foam is quite thick and firm, however there is a "sweet spot" when you adjust the sternum strap width. It feels perfect once you find that exact spot. It also seems to feel better once the pack is loaded up with weight and the strap compresses
