 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment.  It'S not like the foam that you would use for your backpack uh straps, it's like a very thick foam, and so they they sent me these, and i actually was able to do the install myself to upgrade this original backpack to be capable of handling a lot More weight and to just improve the frame and that's cool, i think it's important to reuse. You know products like this and to turn them into more functional, updated products when we can so we don't just throw out perfectly viable and useful backpacks and other type of hiking this one. So that's it! That'S my review of the bag. I think it's a great backpack, i i think it's um worth checking these out

 If you want stuff that needs to stay absolutely dry, this is a well protected area for your important documents and things like that. This bag has been incredibly comfortable.  It opens on the back and you get full access to the whole bag here in the back, and it has a little special feature called the origami compartment here, which basically allows you to turn some storage space into camera space or, like I said, storage space, and You have more volume for other stuff in the back. It'S it's very shallow, I'm an Olympus ambassador and I shoot with Olympus glass, of course, which is small lenses and they fit in perfectly. But if you have slightly bigger lenses, you'll end up putting them in sideways. Like this, I know that for future versions of this backpack there will be it'll, be slightly deeper and then normal full-frame lenses will also fit in upright or the general full frame lens will fit in upright

 They're not just smaller and larger versions of the exact same pack. There are some differences. this one has a laptop compartment on the front. This one has it inside

 They both feature this top flap drawstring top system and then they both have space down in front of the box that actually holds the camera gear and so with compression straps on the sides. Again, this is true for both models. You can stuff the pack as full as you need to and then cinch them down, throw a tripod on the side, and and make it work. Of course, made out of, you know, ripstop nylon

 Back panels are very similar with this sort of ribbed material. It's very comfortable. The biggest thing that I like about the the suspension system here is the waist belt. Now a lot of packs have waist belts

 just like any other outdoor pack you'd expect. They have the same suspension system for the shoulder harnesses here which is great. They both feature internal metal frames which again standard for hiking packs to help distribute the load of the pack down onto your hips rather than on your shoulders. They have or this one has an adjustable velcro thing for adjusting depending on your your torso height which is great can you get a good fit

I've owned dozens of packs in my 50 year hiking/backpacking life . . . this pack is built for the long haul, high load, tough terrain trek

Well Designed, Well Built

  Others have listed the pack's virtues so I'll just list the fatal flaw- the sleeping bag compartment.  It's utterly useless.  I don't see the point to having a large expedition pack with a sleeping bag compartment that I can barely cram a 40 degree bag into.  What a waste!  Overall I like the bag but it's virtually useless for me

The lid is also on the small side, too small for me to ever really consider using it as a day pack, and again it is just a simple sack, nothing to organize little things with. The sleeping bag compartment is also small, and to me seems rather over engineered (heavy).  I thought I would like the fold down access, but in practice I don't see the point in that either, at least for me, undoing the compression straps is about the same time spent as going into the pack from the top.

The lack of molle/pals especially on the belt, to attach organizers really leaves me bummed,  the "torpedo tubes" are just a touch too small for anything I would use them for, wish they had a stretch gusset and would give a little. I can barely fit a solostove in one and it doesn't fit well.  I was really counting on these tubes being more useful for accessing gear I might use prior to setting up camp etc., and they just don't work for me, they are more like decorations than anything functional

 The two load, lifter straps then pull the harness down and remove the plastic back. Support push this tool down, making sure that you're behind the harness it takes some effort, but you'll, hear and feel the velcro loosen. Now you can slide the yoke up or down after you've finished, adjusting the harness re-secure, the velcro, secure the plastic tool to its home pocket andrey buckle, the load. The frame is a hybrid utilizing elements of internal frame design, while putting the frame on the outside of the pack

 Now you can see that it's a top loading pack, the removable lid, has a zippered pocket and can do double duty as a small daypack. This is the spindrift collar. This expands to allow extra storage room and can be cinched down to protect the packs contents. When the lid is removed, in addition to the top opening, the main compartment can also be accessed by a dual zipper panel on the front of the pack inside there's a lined interior pocket that can accommodate up to a three liter hydration system, which is not included

 This shouldn't be too surprising though since it's advertised as a tactical pack.  Though a 17" laptop will not fit in the laptop pocket, it will fit awkwardly within the main cargo area. I have a beefy Alienware 17" laptop with dimensions that exceed 17" and was able to easily fit it within the main section of the pack, but I think you would need a protective sleeve for your 17" laptop because despite the low weight of the pack, the netted pockets within it are quite heavy duty and somewhat abrasive. You could however fit the brick with cord in the laptop pocket unless of course you were going for battery power only

  The options for adjustments are perfect allowing me to get a great fit and seated perfectly along my back and shoulders, I hate packs that hang low because that unsettling center of gravity gets tiring after a while. On the other hand it is easy to adjust the straps on the move which is nice because if anyone has ever worn a pack for an extended period of time, then you know how nice it is to loosen, tighten, and switch to sling mode here and there to help free up spots on your back that get too hot over time because even with breathable material like that present on this pack, the bottom line is that there is still weight pushing material along your back and you will still get hot depending on how long you wear the pack.  The primary harnesses are thick and comfortable, even when I loaded the pack for weight I didn't feel anything digging into my shoulders. I'm used to seeing red marks on my shoulders with other packs and this comfort is something I'm not used to

Best pack I've had.

 I have been rained on several times and nothing inside the bad (laptop) has ever gotten wet. The zippers appear to be very durable as well as the straps. I only encountered a single issue: when packed light (just my laptop) and walking to work, the bottom sides of the bag would rub my back. There is a removable foam insert in each corner

I have been using the 2DayAssault for about 60 days straight. My biggest criteria for purchasing this bag was the rear pocket zipper for the laptop. I have a 15" MacBook Pro and it fits easily in the laptop pocket with easy access from rear pocket zipper or through the top. I use the bag daily for work but I have also taken two 4day weekend trips with nothing more than the 2DayAssault

Versatile Bag with plenty of room

 I wish it had strap retention bands so the excess isn't flopping around. Easy fix for me, I just used some tape. And would be nice if the waist belt was stowable. As far as an EDC bag, if you work outside for a living then yeah, for commuter to work in a city, go with one of their smaller ones like the urban
