Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

MYSTERY RANCH Urban Assault Wildfire Pack

(1/2)

when loaded down, no matter the amount, I couldn't get the bag to be comfortable. I am a broad shouldered gentleman, and I had consistent shoulder pain after carrying the bag for half an hour every time no matter what I had loaded. I messed with the load lifters and all other straps and couldn't get it to work for me at all. I may try the 24 to see if it works better, as the bag seems a little taller and wider, but as of now I can't give a full recommendation for the 21

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

MYSTERY RANCH Urban Assault Wildfire Pack

But when you need to, you can. Especially when using for a true day or weekend hike. Hugely helpful! Build quality is very much a 10/10 no exceptions. Weather-resistant to the most extreme

Carry-on

MYSTERY RANCH Urban Assault Wildfire Pack

(1/1)

It will fit under all plane seats yet is just big enough to carry all you need for the day. The tri-zip feature is unique and offers numerous ways of accessibility. This streamlined pack has no external drink pockets, but I like the streamlined design. It will hold all standard sized laptops well and has just enough organization without having the Russian doll like features (pockets within pockets etc) that many packs have

MYSTERY RANCH Urban Assault Wildfire Pack

etc. I even stuff my lunch bag down inside daily but it is super snug to zip and crushes the lunch sometimes. If you plan to take this thing on a serious hike or haul a bunch of needed equipment, I recommend the bigger sizes MR offers. This is almost slightly larger than my one strap sling bag I wear around on weekends when taking the kids to the mall or movies
