Comfort
Atlas Packs Athlete
Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.
Nomatic 40L TRAVEL BAG
I am bringing it to New Zealand and will update review after the trip. It's extremely practical and comfortable -- the hip straps make this the best you can find. I had considered the Timbuk2 Wander Pack, but the lack of hip strap on that one was the deal breaker. Your back will thank you
Hiking
Atlas Packs Athlete
I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.
Nomatic 40L TRAVEL BAG
I took it hiking while it was raining and the pockets started filling up with water. The rain seeps through the zippers but the material holds in the water. Overall, this is an amazing backpack and I plan on using it for a long time.
Carry-on
Nomatic 40L TRAVEL BAG
Extremely well designed. Excellent carryon bag. What I would change: 1. The water bottle compartment is useless
Size
Nomatic 40L TRAVEL BAG
Additionally, while the bag says it’s international sized for a check in, I am worried it’s too large. It’s practically the same size as my roll suitcase. I’m really hoping this works for international flights.
Strap
Nomatic 40L TRAVEL BAG
I would have preferred for there to be flexibility to include a longer strap for the "duffle" feature of the bag.
