Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Osprey Aphelia Daypack - Women's

(1/1)

Exterior: Very comfortable to wear! The material is durable, water readily beads off the surface, and the pack is lightweight. The lightweight feature is important for me, since I tend to easily experience back discomfort with carrying moderately heavy packs. Well padded, adjustable shoulder straps easily glide over my shoulders when I put it on. The daypack does have adjustable sternum and waist straps (which I haven’t needed to use yet)

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/1)

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Osprey Aphelia Daypack - Women's

(1/2)

I really liked the bag for a day hike, but for airplane travel it did not have enough Pockets and because the middle pocket does not zip down to the bottom of the bag it was hard to open and find items easily. When you are hiking and don’t need easy access to much, it was fine. It did fit perfectly under the airplane seat in front of me versus having to squish down my usual backpack. Overall, it was very comfortable and I would use it again

Compartment

Osprey Aphelia Daypack - Women's

(1/1)

Interior: This daypack has three zippered compartments with finger loops on the zippers (a beautiful thing especially when you have some arthritis in your hands and weaker pinch strength). The outer, top smaller compartment (with one-way zipper) is roomy enough to hold keys, wallet, phone charger, external hard drive, writing utensils, snacks, and more. Middle compartment (with one-way zipper) runs the length of the bag and includes three, small divided, easy access compartments for storing items such as eyeglass case, tissues, etc.

Carry-on

Osprey Aphelia Daypack - Women's

(1/1)

Osprey's 'what bag is best for you' website gives it an F for carrying heavy loads--i'm just a commuter, but I carry pretty heavy stuff. also the bag has a california cancer warning--maybe all osprey bags have this? but i don't see it on the amazon site so just fyi. I'm unfortunately returning.

Size

Osprey Aphelia Daypack - Women's

(1/2)

I am a petite woman and the shoulder straps sit very close to my neck on my shoulders which made it uncomfortable for me to carry gear for me and my dog on a day hike. It felt better when I used the waist belt and chest strap, but not great. I kept wanting to pull the straps further from my neck.
