Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Osprey Exos 58 Pack - Men's

(1/1)

I've gone to the fanny pack life and never looked back! When I take off my pack, I find it nice to have things like my phone, hand sanitizer, and headlamp right on me all the time- I get that with a fanny pack. The lack of hipbelt pockets allows my arms to move back and forth without rubbing on anything. The actual biggest weakness of this pack is its greatest strength: the comfort of the trampoline suspension gives out at loads above 30 pounds. Keep it under 30 pounds and it's blissful

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Osprey Exos 58 Pack - Men's

(1/2)

The hip straps are fine, and easy to adjust, even to my 40" waist. For my needs - hikes of a few days - it is large enough. Presumably in an attempt to keep the weight down, it lacks the bells and whistles of some more sophisticated rucksacks that have more pockets accessible from the side or back. The Exos 58 has a single main chamber, only accessible from the top

Size

Osprey Exos 58 Pack - Men's

(1/2)

My recommendations are a little smaller than a 65l but feels like you can hold the same amount, the Osprey Exos 58L or the REI Trail Break 60L. I personally use the Exos 48L but my friend uses the 58 and loves it.(He's 6'2" and weighs about 170). I recommend the Trail Break because that's what he used before getting the Osprey

Strap

Osprey Exos 58 Pack - Men's

(1/1)

The adjustment straps are JUST long enough to allow me to fit the pack as I wish. It's a pity all the straps are not manufactured a couple of centimetres longer. This applies to the adjustment of the chest strap too. I wish I could set it a little lower
