Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Love this pack! Very Comfortable on the trail. Just big enough for me to pack 3 days of adventure into.

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Osprey Rook 50 Pack - Men's

(1/3)

I do a lot of backpacking and I'm getting older and this pack keeps the weight off my shoulders and more on your hips and allows air to circulate between the pack and my back. Instead of the pack resting on your back it bows out and leaves a gap which i loved because it prevented the sweating which normally happens. Plenty of space and attachment points.

Compartment

Osprey Rook 50 Pack - Men's

(1/1)

My other backpacks are generally simplistic in design and not made to handle much more than what you would need for about three or four hours. Osprey Rook 50 Backpacking Pack was the larger addition I was looking for. It has a more rigid design with a solid backing and multiple compartments, including one that can hold a sleeping bag. The mesh side pockets and hip belt pockets provide the space you need for a serious hike

Strap

Osprey Rook 50 Pack - Men's

(1/1)

I wasn’t so sure the first time I tried it on for size. I had trouble removing it, but that is because, well, I’m not as flexible as I once was and I didn’t adjust the straps first. That made putting I on easy, but taking it off was a different matter. Once I realized my mistake and adjusted the straps as needed, I didn’t have any trouble at all
