Comfort
Atlas Packs Athlete
Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.
Osprey Rook 65 Pack - Men's
I'm new to backpacking, so take it for what it's worth. I wanted a quality bag under the $200, with enough torso adjustment to work for me and my father on different trips. This was recommended by an employee of a local hikingstore.
Hiking

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

The airspeed back panel I also like a lot because it seems to help with me sweating all over the pack. For packability the main compartment is able to hold pretty much everything I have. I'm using this for long section hikes. Just took it out for 100 miles and I'm going to go back out there and attempt another 200-300 miles

2. Size - I could fit a lot of stuff in here. Large sleeping pad, large sleeping bag, full hammock set, bear canister, spare clothes, rain jacket, snacks, maps, etc with room to spare.

New to backpacking, but as a beginner I find this bag great for the money spent. I like the adjustable straps that connect the top of the pack to the arm straps that help keep the center of gravity over your hips, and the fact there are two sets of them. I keep mine on the lower set and it works great. Also the adjustable rungs on the side of the pack that help you adjust to torso size
