Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Compartment

Osprey Siskin 8 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

The outer compartment for helmets (we keep ours on our heads) is also great for a jacket, gloves, sandwich, or whatever else you want to quickly stuff in there. If you cinch down the straps it won't come out. The inner zipped pocket is great for some cash and a car key, and the rest of the inner pocket is slim, but will easily carry the large smart phone and more clothing or snacks, a tube and pump, or whatever else you might need for a long foray into the mountains.

Carry-on

Osprey Siskin 8 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

The version they send with the bag does not have a quick release. I have multiple $10 bladders that have quick release on them. Why would the company dumb down the advertised bladder for someone who just paid $100+ for their bag? This makes the bladder a 100% throw away and who buys a high end product to have to throw away the piece that's a core function? If I wanted to do that I can buy a bag at half the price and use my own bladder. The fact they they advertise it comes with a certain bladder but modify it tells me enough about the company to not use their product

Size

Osprey Siskin 8 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

My only comment is the size it is a bit small so make sure to take note of size before buying. Can barely fit a light down coat.

Strap

Osprey Siskin 8 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

Overall, the pack works great. It's comfy, and there's plenty of storage for both water and bike gear. However, this pack is poorly designed when it comes to the straps. Adjusting for size means there's a lot of loose straps dangling with nowhere to put them
