Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Osprey Syncro 12 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

It should have elastic strap tamers, or velcro wraps. As-is the straps flap in the wind. :/ Lasty, there should be a magnet on both sides. Other than that, the pack is well thought out, super comfortable, and made with top-notch materials all stitched together nicely

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Osprey Syncro 12 Hydration Pack - Men's

especially for day hikes. (its fantastic for that too, especially in the heat). The shoulder straps are thin, vented, flexy, don't have any extra strapping or attachment points, and all of the other straps are thin/light - all of that is great until you need a place to hang a phone pouch, gps, etc.

Compartment

Osprey Syncro 12 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

Lots of space for the rider who likes to carry everything . This ultimately replaced my Raptor with it's cool design, rain catch which rolls and tucks inside the bag, not to mention 3L H2o Blatter, its feels cool on my back even on long ride in the hot summer, plus it has pockets for days for tools, snacks, helmet hanger..

Carry-on

Osprey Syncro 12 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

Not anymore. No more handle, no more screw on lid and no rigid back. You can pay an extra 40 bucks for a rigid bladder. Why didn't they just include that with every one in the first place like with the old packs? Money, that's why

Size

Osprey Syncro 12 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/1)

I am 5'9" with a shorter than average torso so I believe that the pack rides higher than most people. Additionally I wear a POC Tectal helmet which has additional coverage towards the lower part of the back of my head. The combination of these factors makes the pack uncomfortable and dangerous for me to wear. I really wanted to like this pack but no combination of chest/waist strap settings could hold the pack in place while also not holding the pack so high up my back that it would cause interference with the back of my helmet and the wire frame

Strap

Osprey Syncro 12 Hydration Pack - Men's

(1/2)

Once filled you must fight to get the "blob" back down in the hole especially if you have extra layers in the main storage. Again, no rigid back = hassle.. The sternum strap clip is redesigned for the worse and more difficult to use
