I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

Best Mirrorless Camera Bag? Atlas Packs Athlete Backpack

I purchased the 20L version at a local store and loved it the beginning. However, I upgraded my laptop to the new M1 MacBook Air and it would turn on every time I placed it my bag. It appears a magnet within the bag triggers a wake sequence in the MacBook. I recognize this issue is not necessarily a design flaw by Peak Designs

  I had an issue with the zipper after a few years and the customer service to replace it was very organized, simple and fast.

I've had the 20L for about 8 month, and one of the main zippers broke on me, which didn't leave a good impression on how easily the zipper would fall apart.  Anyways, I decided to get the 30L instead, since it is able to carry all of my camera gears along with some other accessories. The bag itself is great. The biggest pro about it is the flexibility of compartmentalize the interior space

 One thing I did find that's bothersome is the relative thin shoulder straps. The thickness is identical to the ones on the 20L. The straps will sometimes dig into the shoulder/upper chest area when at certain angles, which is quite uncomfortable. The sternum strap helps a little with this issue, but it does happen from time to time

 from total strangers. Mind you, this is a very unique customizable interior system that takes a bit to grow accustomed to, but it is excellent nonetheless. The closure system is so secure, but so exquisitely well designed that you will be able to secure and open with one hand in a no look in a hurry manner. I carried this bag, FULLY loaded and it was totally comfortable! Airport to airport, no problem! Also, even fully loaded, this bag fits well in the overhead bin perfectly

I would buy it again without hesitation.

 The videos claim it's to allow you to use only one hand, but I find that you end up having to use a lot more force than if they were just the typical semi stretchy mesh that other bags use.  In-fact, the horrendous design of the straps is a reoccurring theme with this bag. The tripod straps are flimsy and odd. They come around from the bottom of the tripod and make it difficult to get a good cinch on your tripod, especially if it's got a large top or if you're using a gimbal (ex: my Crane 2 wobbles around a hell of a lot more with this bag than any other I own)

How does noone complain about the comfort of this thing? The number one thing about a backpack is that you're going to wear it on your shoulders and this has some of the absolute WORST straps I've ever had the displeasure of trying.  They're super stiff, and using the chest strap makes them dig into your chest. The waist strap comes up pretty high even on the 30L, and is pretty thin, so also not great. All those straps going across your body are annoying to use too

I switched from a 20L to a 30L... Here is my 2 week review.

6. If I had the money, I'd go with the Peak Design Everyday in midnight, but I don't know if I'd want the 20L or 30L. Would be convenient not having a separate bag swinging around while I am hiking up to peaks and lakes.

I'm getting more and more into hiking and taking my camera gear with me (what else am I supposed to do in quarantine) but I want to be more comfortable and bring actual gear with me. Maybe a couple cameras or different lenses, but how can I prevent that from getting smashed in my bag that's holding my cookware for lunch (just an example,this isn't my prime concern)? Any and all recommendations are welcome!

 You know just a couple things like room key card like photo from a wedding that we were at. There'S me eating a giant corn dog yum, and then i've just got like like a this is actually a spork or a fork and knife set, which is super cool, so like this is credit card size that fits in here vertically on this side, pocket, which is Nice, zip that back up and then i wanted to show you too passport does fit into here as well. So that's about the max space, which is nice now, if you want to keep your passport secure, this is a great place to put it because it's you know inside a zipper inside of a zipper you know, which is which is good, nice and secure, and then A mirrored pocket on the other side which can fit like a vertical size, credit card and just while we're here, i just want you to look at the beefiness of this zipper and the rounded rectangleness of it. It looks really nice that zoom zipper still like ykk better, but i think peak design is doing some really cool stuff with zoom, and i really dig that so there you have it the peak design, 30 liter travel backpack

 So you can see, we have zipper pulls here and here so this. This is for the main compartment, and this is for this front little pocket here now these zippers are not lockable. I suppose you could kind of like weave them together and maybe put a lock here, but you can still open them and get access if they are attached. But these aren't lockable, which i think is fine, but these are at least like theft deterrent

If you want to learn more about the 45 liter travel backpack from peak design, but this one's just a simple zipper, there's no buttons - or you know, compression straps or anything like that - which i like gives you a little extra space. I also like that. The bag still looks, you know good, i mean there's just a zipper and some zipper teeth, holding out or kind of popping out, but it's reverse coil

 And then i think this is called the small and i think they do that, because you can get a large camera cube which takes up three units. So imagine this is one unit, two unit three units, so you can fit in three units of their packing tools here, which is nice check out their website. For that i'm doing that by memory. I'M pretty sure that's how it is, but just i might be wrong there all right, so these packing cubes fit in nicely
