I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. Rei's commuter pack is pretty decent size. It's more oriented to cyclist commuters but works great for commuting in general. Has a rain fly for the water proof as well.

Hey all - been looking for something good for DAYS now and can’t really make up my mind, so figured I could try here. 

I need to buy a new backpack to take with me the office/university, but also travelling on planes and trains. Would ideally have a padded laptop compartment (one of those easy access ones that are separate on the back and you can access quickly for the outside), and also be big enough to fit a lunch box, big chilly’a bottle, charger and some more stuff in it comfortably. 

I’ve been looking at Fjällraven Kånken but it’s not waterproof and that’s not really an option for me given I live in London. Other ones that I liked were WANDRD Prvke and Höher RA2. Are there any better options out there? Has anyone used any of the ones I mentioned? 

The budget is more or less £100

Backpack for office commute/travelling

Now you might ask, "But SaltyMargaritas, what was it about this particular roll-top that told you to give it a chance?". Well, the Commuter Pack has a long vertical side zipper that allows access to the main compartment, so I don't need to open the roll-top every time I need to get something from the main compartment. I also dig that the main compartment has light grey interior lining that improves visibility.

It has a volume of 18L which is expandable to 22L thanks to its roll-top, and it is made of Heimplanet's own [DYECOSHELL fabric]([URL REMOVED] In addition to the roll-top opening, it also has a medium-size front pocket and a small zippered side pocket.

 I am a little concerned about the flimsy straps which get really narrow where they connect to the pack, and don't seem enforced enough. I fear that they might start tearing at some point? Who knows.

 On top of that, the bag has an adjustable and removable sternum strap to help distribute weight, and this is one of those styles of sternum strap. That does have a tendency to fall off, so you definitely want to be careful as you're placing the bag on and off. This is slipped off one or two times it does make it very easy to adjust. But if you're using this on a regular basis, you'll want to make sure that this is properly secured

 Okay and so now I'll, go ahead and close up the main area and roll the straps up and then with the expansion offered by the roll top. It can just barely make its way around, but it still manages to close. So, as you can see, this is the bag it pretty much its fullest capacity with a pair of shoes and a packing cube on the inside. I wouldn't try to add anything else

 I really like that it has this guard near the bottom to help prevent smaller items from falling out accidentally and so jumping into the items that I currently have here I have my full-size moleskin notebook. Then I also have my Kindle e-reader and then I have a lightning cable to charge, my phone and my iPad and then the compartment also has this small plastic clip and lanyard to attach your keys, or in my case, what I currently have here is my Gerber, Dumb multi-tool, so just a really great job, with the simplicity and space offered by the making it very easy to get to the next area. We'Re gon na take a look at is the laptop compartment and the bag has a nice easy to access side, opening zipper here very well protected. I like that

 So if you want to attach something like a bike light or a carabiner, these are gon na be really helpful. The next pocket is a simple, quick access compartment on the front. It has a very well protected zipper, as we saw earlier, and one thing I really like about all the zippers on this side of the bag. Is that they're vertically oriented, so you can swing the bag around and get into these compartments very easily, and so opening this up very simple compartment here, no sort of internal organization
