Comfort
Atlas Packs Athlete
Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

I got this at the last sale. Used it everyday last week out hiking. It is soft & easy to wear for the person who does not carry lots of heavy stuff. I usually carry camera, binoculars, bird book, lunch, and a jacket

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.
REI Co-op Member Exclusive Flash 22 Pack
I am obsessed with this pack. Got mine in 2018 after deciding to hike a 14'er while on vacation in Colorado and I have been in love ever since. I have a fairly petite frame (5'2", 135LB, 16 inch torso) and this fits me perfectly. I have a girlfriend who is 5'9" and it fits her perfectly as well due to how well all the straps adjust

Size

The side pocket is several inches shorter. This is enough of a difference that when I pick up the pack, my water often falls out.
Strap

Nice little padding on the straps. Even when in 100+ degree heat for 9+ hours, helped to keep my back cool and wicked away sweat. Definitely waterproof. Overall a nice upgrade from the previous model!
