Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

REI Co-op Packmod Rainshield Pocket

(1/1)

It did seem to work in heavy rain, but that does not matter when the device you put in it falls out because of a poor designed. My phone fell out the Pocket several times on a recent hike when I took off my pack. Which bares the question, what if you didn't notice it fell out? I will be returning this item. Not to mention this is my 3rd REI product return this year

REI Co-op Packmod Rainshield Pocket

Ok, I love the vertical packmod idea, but this vertical design needs to be a bit taller, wider (fit the larger phones and be able to close and add wee more depth to fit a pocket camera as the hip belt pockets are never big enough. And as another poster said, use a better closure, the magnetic closure is not secure. The materials used is nice and lightweight, but durable. The attachment option to put on shoulder harness is great

Strap

REI Co-op Packmod Rainshield Pocket

(1/1)

.I'm trying to use on my backpacking straps to hold my iPhone. Issues 1) pocket straps make it difficult to attach to the backpacking straps in the desired location (adding velcro may make it more flexible?), and 2) the closing latch is very difficult to close when items are in the pocket and you can't see the latch to center the two parts.
