I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. This is Daniel and today we're going to check out the North Face borealis back cool checking it out from the front. So we got here a little bit of elastic straps here. If you want to put something in here and attach it that way, maybe a jumper or maybe a you know a mat of some sort. We'Ve got a front little section here up the top

 So, if you're going long distances - and you want to pull you your load in close to your body, which is probably the best for you - know - ergonomics they're there for you as well on the back. Quite a technical back panel super well padded for back support.  That'S going to last you a long time, let's check out the front panel. Yes, so all of these zips are YKK, they slide really beautifully. This is our front panel very similar front panel to the Recon pocket here for an iPad, a few other little pockets and mesh pockets. These ones little key clip here as well pop the keys on that so little front pocket with some organization in there and let's check out the main section so chunky zips on the main section, buttery smooth they just glide open, really effortless yeah, and that's something that You you really want you, don't want you zips, giving out on you, because it makes your backpack not that great

 The version i have here is the all black, but you can see all the different options that they have on the company site and then moving into the materials on the exterior. You have a rip, stop nylon that feels pretty lightweight, but like it's still going to hold up well to rougher usage, it also feels like it's going to offer a nice amount of weather resistance, and then you have ykk zippers all throughout the bag that have worked Really smoothly continuing along the outside on the front, as i mentioned earlier, you have webbing that's going to allow you to attach additional accessories with something like a carabiner. This is normally the spot where i would attach my hero clip, but you have two rows of this. Webbing one on each side, so a lot of different ways that you can attach items and then you have on the bottom of the bag, compression straps that are going to allow you to hold something like a yoga mat or maybe a jacket

 If you place your bag down. You can kind of see this starting to slide out in this compartment. On the left. I just placed a little manicure set that i like to have with me when i'm on the go and then on the right, i placed this usb power block that i use for charging my macbook pro and my other devices when i'm on the road moving up Along the front of the bag, you have another spacious compartment

I like that. The zipper on this one is almost hidden on the front of the bag, and so opening this up

 You can see my 13 inch macbook pro is getting kind of swallowed up by the compartment, but the sleeve is very well padded. I love that it has the soft fleece lining to help prevent against scratching it's a suspended compartment. So if you place your bag down a little bit harder, your device is going to be well protected and so pulling my laptop out now with the compartment empty. You can get a better look at the inside and so plenty of padding on both sides of the compartment, and it comes up enough to be able to hold a thicker device

 That will do everything that you need, so this first of all, is sort of supported by the AAC, which is the American Association of chiropractors. So the way that is kind of designed is going to be much better for your back, so it's nice and comfortable, especially you're, wearing it with sort of heavy loads for long periods of time. So let's take a closer look so starting off with the front. So the front of it starting up right up at the top we've got this small little sort of compartment here

 It tight against your back. So it's not so we're sort of Wiggly and sort of moving around as they're shaking because they're just getting annoying, so you can sort of compress it down. But then, when you need to get into it, you can just pinch clip and get into it to sort of mesh quick access pockets. If you've got water bottles, you can stow them in there nice and quickly, but still access them without having to take the entire backpack off

 This is sort of reflective. You can also sort of attach like a head torch onto that if you're sort of cycling just so that you're a bit more visible out there in the dark around the size. We'Ve got these compression straps. So if you do have sort of any empty space or sit on the inside of the bag, you can sort of tighten these up and that just really sort of compresses

 But then, when you need to get into it, you can just pinch clip and get into it to sort of mesh quick access pockets. If you've got water bottles, you can stow them in there nice and quickly, but still access them without having to take the entire backpack off. And then, if I show you the sort of main compartment, so this has two separate compartments, the one so that the front is kind of the multimedia section. So this is for your pins and your sort of stationary, whatever you need

The North Face | Borealis Classic Rucksack Review

 Now, let's get up to the compartments, the borealis features a bungee cord system at the front, which is ideal for lashing on gear or putting in a jacket or a hat or some gloves anything that you need really quick access to. It is secured by this drawstring closure, which means that you can really tighten things up against the bag, or you can also stretch it out to fit bigger things as well, all all the loops for the bungee cord system. There is reflective detailing and the top there is a fleece liner, zippered compartment which goes down to about here and is good for a phone or some glasses. The next compartment is the organization compartment

 Some of the fabrics used include 600d polyester, 504, 20 D, nylon, 210 d, Cordura nylon ripstop, which is the one here and typically for most bags. They have a 1680 deep ballistic nylon base for extra ground durability. On top of all of that, there is heavy duty, nylon, webbing custom North Face dura flexed, buckles and smooth and reliable YKK zips. Ok, so, starting from the front, we have a stitched in half dome North Face logo as well as the model name here
