Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

The North Face Jester Daypack - Women's

(1/3)

The Jester normally tips forward for us, so propping it facing a wall or a chair leg is our go-to solution.

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Love this pack. Perfect size for day pack. Held my hiking essentials and a lunch. Side pouches fit my 48 oz nalgene bottle

Carry-on

The North Face Jester Daypack - Women's

(1/2)

I won’t be using this pack for my laptop. I have my other one for that which is carefully and specifically designed for a laptop and not for extra clothes and shoes and things. This is why I bought this backpack! The laptop slot is great for passport, iPad, coloring book, atlas, and/or reading book, while keeping my clothes separate. Just note: this is NOT a “laptop” backpack

Size

The North Face Jester Daypack - Women's

This is where we put our bulkiest packing cubes, stacking them big to small. In other words, to make the most of the Jester’s 27-liter space, strategizing is the way to go.

Strap

The North Face Jester Daypack - Women's

(1/1)

It broke on my first trip. The chest straps are attached to the backpack straps with plastic clip things. Kind of hard to describe. Mine broke when I put my backpack on top of my rolling carry-on suitcase, and used the chest strap to secure it on the pull-out handle
