 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel.  It'S not like the foam that you would use for your backpack uh straps, it's like a very thick foam, and so they they sent me these, and i actually was able to do the install myself to upgrade this original backpack to be capable of handling a lot More weight and to just improve the frame and that's cool, i think it's important to reuse. You know products like this and to turn them into more functional, updated products when we can so we don't just throw out perfectly viable and useful backpacks and other type of hiking this one. So that's it! That'S my review of the bag. I think it's a great backpack, i i think it's um worth checking these out

 And then here i've got a long, a large version of a telephoto a little bit longer than your traditional 70 to 200, but essentially the the same grouping of lenses all right. So i want to take you inside of the backpack a little bit now. This is the main chamber: we've obviously opened up the backpack flap. This is fairly thin

 This bag is a 20 liter backpack. It is really a hiking backpack that has a camera core built in, and that is exactly what i was looking for and why was that? What i was looking for? Well, i had been living with the peak design bag and you can see a review on my channel of that bag for uh two years and i like that bag. I think it's very functional, but i was taking it hiking and i was taking it outside or more often i was ditching it and just throwing my camera into my hiking backpack, and that was not a good situation and the reason why was the lack of padding And comfort overall, on that peak design bag, i don't actually think i want anything different when i'm shooting in the city. I know that often we're driving to a location, we're taking pictures or we're taking

. So it's a pretty big backpack, but this is the backpack that i've used for like five or six years. It'S so comfortable! You throw this thing on and you can walk for miles and you don't even feel the weight and why is it so comfortable? That'S the real question that we want to answer and we want to see these attributes in the bags that we choose for camera gear, so first thing comfortable, straps, obviously right, but the nice padding and the good form and the heavy duty foam. These are important factors in creating a comfortable, strap

What makes a camera bag COMFORTABLE? How does the Atlas Athlete size up?

 If you want stuff that needs to stay absolutely dry, this is a well protected area for your important documents and things like that. This bag has been incredibly comfortable. The most comfortable backpack I've ever had that's also a camera bag and, as you can see, this bag expands to infinity. I haven't actually reached a point where this bag is full, where it's overfilled and where it's been too heavy to carry or anything like that

 It opens on the back and you get full access to the whole bag here in the back, and it has a little special feature called the origami compartment here, which basically allows you to turn some storage space into camera space or, like I said, storage space, and You have more volume for other stuff in the back. It'S it's very shallow, I'm an Olympus ambassador and I shoot with Olympus glass, of course, which is small lenses and they fit in perfectly. But if you have slightly bigger lenses, you'll end up putting them in sideways. Like this, I know that for future versions of this backpack there will be it'll, be slightly deeper and then normal full-frame lenses will also fit in upright or the general full frame lens will fit in upright

 They're not just smaller and larger versions of the exact same pack. There are some differences. this one has a laptop compartment on the front. This one has it inside

 They both feature this top flap drawstring top system and then they both have space down in front of the box that actually holds the camera gear and so with compression straps on the sides. Again, this is true for both models. You can stuff the pack as full as you need to and then cinch them down, throw a tripod on the side, and and make it work. Of course, made out of, you know, ripstop nylon

 Back panels are very similar with this sort of ribbed material. It's very comfortable. The biggest thing that I like about the the suspension system here is the waist belt. Now a lot of packs have waist belts

 just like any other outdoor pack you'd expect. They have the same suspension system for the shoulder harnesses here which is great. They both feature internal metal frames which again standard for hiking packs to help distribute the load of the pack down onto your hips rather than on your shoulders. They have or this one has an adjustable velcro thing for adjusting depending on your your torso height which is great can you get a good fit

 The pockets are well thought out and user friendly. The laptop sleeve is perfect for a 4th generation iPad in it's case. The zippered top access is my favorite thing about the bag, it’s great!

 The shoulder straps have plenty of padding, the (removable) waist belt is great and the chest strap can be moved up or down to accommodate different body shapes. It has plenty of dividers that are simple to set up. The pockets are well thought out and user friendly. The laptop sleeve is perfect for a 4th generation iPad in it's case

Perfect size for daily use...

 In here i got extra batteries. We close it up now, while you're wearing it you've got quick access right at the top here, quick access to the camera itself. This is the inside of what you just saw, but this is now access accessible from the top. So if i'm done recording with my camera done making photos, i can throw it in right at the top and call it a day or let's say i know, i'm gon na have the the the camera on my hip on my spider holster all the time

 I don't know what business cards stuff like that, maybe a a filter or something like that - that you might need on a regular basis, moving to the top and down you've got the straps here and the pouch and strap down here for a tripod to be strapped To the back of your bag, which is way more comfortable than strapping it to the side, although you could also strap a small tripod to the side if you want, but i love that it hides up for when you don't need it. Moving to the back, we've got a nice padded back and really comfortable straps with nice little like neoprene type material. I don't know what exactly it is. It'S very soft i haven't felt a think tank bag with this material in the past

 The cinch right here for the for the shoulder straps actually can be. You can slide it off if you don't want them. I actually like using these, especially because i do not normally, unless i am hiking or backpacking, i normally don't use the waist waist strap which can be easily removed by just pinching. This down remove unbuckling it, and then you just slide it right out once i'm done with this video

. That'S the only difference. That'S the only difference. Okay, so on the outside, we've got a nice little soft pouch here, a little zippered pocket for you know whatever sort of little accessories you need readily available on the outside right there i mean it's just a little pocket

 Very comfortable supportive back padding here there is also a loop. So if you have a rolling suitcase, you can literally slide it right on top of your rolling suitcase and you don't have to carry the bag when you're going through an airport or whatever. That is a really nice feature, as well, like most think tank bags. You also have these loops right here for accessories you can put carabiners you can put whatever you need on a regular basis attached to that on the sides on both sides, they're actually identical

 When i went my most recent trip, i went to florida. I used it on set for a couple of days where we had all of our gear already set up and stationed in one area this was my to and from the set bag. So i put everything in here from lunch. You know to my gear laptops hard drives all that stuff that i needed to take back every night, download upload for the client to see online, and then i took this back to the set the next day with my most important gear in it and with my Batteries charged in it memory cards, erased and all that good stuff

 I was like i can't believe people are not doing this. Okay, so really quick inside of my lighting compartment here, you'll see what i typically do with other bags. So i actually put these together to create more padding, okay, so i'll put two or three of these together to create more padding in the bottom of the bag for a lens right problem. Is this takes away your dividers and you're not able to actually throw a lot of a lot more stuff in here, and it it kind of becomes annoying when you're trying to pull it out and then, when you're, trying to put it back in, you got to Fight with the bag and you're, just like, oh my god! Well, it's something! I'Ve learned to live with over the years until now, until now, like i'm gon na contact team tank and see, if they'll just send me these okay, so inside of the bag itself

 Some extra batteries, some extra cards, all the stuff that we're going to take out on the street and on the chute when we're shooting and scooting down the road. Now this is not a roller bag. This is not something that you're going to take through the airport and just have it rolling behind you with all your luggage. This is not a bag that you're going to take out

 I had to have one because it looks better two, because it feels good on my back when you're walking around with a ton of gear on your back all day long. You want something: that's not only comfortable on the shoulders like the theme tank is, but you want to be able to feel that as you're moving around on your back without it throwing you off balance and all that, so when you're carrying a lot of gear, you Want it to be for me, i want it to be a little bit wider of a bag, so the bag that i'm actually going to keep and the back my daily every everyday carry bag is only about two inches wider, and if this bag had been two Inches wider, i would have kept it. That is the one thing that i don't like about the bag and unfortunately it's the one box that i cannot tick. That says that i want the bag, i'm going to keep the bag forever
