Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Tom Bihn Synik 30

I do a lot of traveling where I fly (U.S. and abroad) and then a lot of walking so exceptional comfort when packed full is a must. The Synik 30 checks all the boxes for me except the attachment points and being waterproof

Compartment

Tom Bihn Synik 30

(1/1)

My typical work travel is the Synik 30 for all my tech and daily stuff, and a Red Oxx Extra Small Aviator for my clothes and toiletries. I can squeeze both of these onto an Embraer 145 small regional plane with the Aviator duffel in the overhead and the Synik under the seat in front of me. No need for gate checking a roller bag and I smile as I pass others while easily flying up and down stairs or broken escalators

Carry-on

Tom Bihn Synik 30

(1/2)

My vote would be for the Tom Bihn Synik 30. It has a dedicated laptop sleeve that will easily accommodate a large laptop, a built in internal frame, a clam-shell design so that you can easily load/unload the main section, 5 brilliantly designed external pockets for accessories, chargers, valuables etc, and very comfortable‘edge less’ shoulder straps. There is also a whole ecosystem of accessories and pouches for smaller items. At $300 it’s not cheap, but I think it’s hard to beat

Size

Tom Bihn Synik 30

Basically, I am looking for a bag that can double for one bag travelling, hiking and backpacking but not look over engineered or tactical/military (I want to blend in) and can stay relatively small and compact in size (\~30L). Any bag suggestions similar to the Synik 30 with attachment points?
