Comfort

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/2)

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Tortuga Setout

If their particular products don't interest you, I would still strongly recommend a suitcase/side opening bag rather than a stuff-everything-down-the-top styles of bags 🤙

Hiking

Atlas Packs Athlete

(1/1)

I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack.

Tortuga Setout

We like to say that the Setout Divide is what the Homebase should have been... We think that Tortuga has really learned a lot and upped their game when it comes to this smaller pack

Compartment

Tortuga Setout

And one last thing on this laptop compartment... We really like it, but we do wish that there was some weather resistant or aquaguard YKK zippers used, just for some additional moisture protection for your tech

Carry-on

Tortuga Setout

came off. With really no effort from us at all—they just popped off as we were putting the bag on. Weird.

Honestly I'd go for a backpack over a wheeled suitcase. You will be seriously limited getting around with a rolling suitcase when you encounter cobbled streets or buildings without elevators. I traveled for 6 months with a backpack and it would have been a nightmare with a rolling suitcase.
