I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 It was perfect for my trip!  I didn’t realize there’s a 7KG/15LBS limit for carry-ons. Mine overexceeded the limit by 5 pounds so I had to check it in. It’s super cool that the straps have a piece of material that goes over them so they don’t get ruined.  The black/dark grey color is really nice! My friend has the same pack and says the same

  The compression straps do a great job not only keeping everything in place, but also adding a layer of security. The exterior straps are mounted by another layer of ripstop fabric that encases all the zippers, making them difficult to locate and access while strapped down tightly. This costs you a couple seconds and extra effort if you need to get into the bag while you're on the go, but there is no way for someone to easily get into the bag while out of sight on your back without you knowing. The zippers are paired, so you can lock them with a small padlock if that's your thing

I read about this bag on a couple travel blogs where it received high praise. I figured it was worth a shot since it was on sale on Amazon with a free Prime return. I figured I would have to buy compression bags to make this thing work, but they were unnecessary

The BEST bag for lightweight international travel

I'm 5'7 male, waist size on jeans are 36", and 45" chest.  I tried the M/L Farpoint 40 on in the store and it felt like a good fit, so I was a little concerned the S/M size would not fit well. However, I got this at $105 during cyber monday deals so I couldn't resist taking a chance. Glad I did as it feels very similar to the M/L size I tried on

S/M works for short stocky guys and it's 38 liters, not 40.

 The waist support and the shoulder straps fit me very well. And this does fit in the overhead compartment on an airplane.

Would be perfect, but that laptop sleeve and bottle holders are horrible

 This isn't adjustable. It doesn't cause pain, but it's not uncomfortable when trekking for multiple days.

7 Months Backpacking - Great Quality

 This bag has a laptop compartment on the back, i.e., posterior if you're speaking anatomically. I was most concerned about the placement of this laptop sleeve/compartment as other reviewers have mentioned

 My concern was mainly about creating a bend-type stress on the laptop. Since this bag/backpack is soft, i.e., doesn't have a rigid shell or internal frame I wondered if I stuffed it full of things it might cause stress on my laptop and break it

 You can see in my photo that I have a jacket and large sweater strapped in. The other nice thing about the compression strap is that they keep your zippers secure, making it nearly impossible for someone to reach in your bag while you are wearing it. FYI the top zipper compartment for your 3-2-1 toiletries works great for holding my folding Bose headphones and my old folding Beats as well. The material so far feels strong and durable

 I use it 99% of the time in back pack mode. The ergonomic straps don't hurt like other backpacks do when carrying a heavy load. The comfort is so much better with this bag. The carrying handle on the side also has an ample amount of cushion and doesn't hurt your hand

Best travel pack I've owned

 The Compass 40 does not have hip straps, which is why I ordered the Osprey Farpoint 40 to begin with. However, after being honest with myself, I decided that I likely would only be using this pack to travel through airports, on shuttles, and in taxis, so while nice, the hip straps really weren't essential. When I received the Compass 40, I was able to fit the same amount of stuff (garment folder, half cube, toiletries, and shoes), plus an additional Eagle Creek Pack It Full Cube, and there was still room. I did not even use the expandable foot locker

  I planned to use this pack for travel as a carry on, with the goal of it being my only luggage. As a test, I packed in my Eagle Creek Pack-It Garment Folder (medium), Eagle Creek Pack-It Half Cube, my toiletry bag, and a pair of shoes. It all fit reasonably well, but you could definitely feel the edges of the garment folder, and there did not seem to be much additional room.  After a bit of consternation,I ordered a different bag that I had heard about, the Gregory Compass 40

 If for some reason you want to look like you are carrying a regular duffel bag instead of a backpack, you will love these features. I did not.  I planned to use this pack for travel as a carry on, with the goal of it being my only luggage. As a test, I packed in my Eagle Creek Pack-It Garment Folder (medium), Eagle Creek Pack-It Half Cube, my toiletry bag, and a pair of shoes
