I also purchased a Capture Clip from Peak Designs which allows you to fix the camera to the shoulder strap in place while hiking – a great addition to this pack. 

 A small hole developed in one of the side waterbottle pockets but I can take resposibility for that when I shoved the tip of my trekking pole in there. 

Important: Choose the Adventure or Athlete hip belt – otherwise you will have literally no padding on your hips. I don’t recommend using the bag without a hipbelt either. The Adventure belt is more comfortable as it provides two layers of foam padding and a wider webbing and buckle – it’s also bigger and bulkier.

Even with the camera compartment loaded the back pannel is comfy and I never feel any of the gear inside digging into my back.

 It goes all the way down in the front here, so you reach all the way down into the front of the bag. Right here, there's my hand going all the way in some more dry dry packs, so you can stuff clothes and things all the way down there. It'S got a little laptop sleeve right here in the front it might be hard to see, but you can slide your laptop in there and it sits against the cube, so it stays stays flat and it doesn't kind of jostle around and then here's the frame. So there's the steel frame i was talking about - and this is the large frame and you'll see it goes to here

 You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead. You can just put the medium frame in if you want it to be even a little bit smaller [ Applause ] additional pouch on the inside. It goes to there additional molle webbing and then a nice little spot for your name here, more straps on the inside

 There are also spots here to put in a smaller frame a medium frame. I think this is the large frame you can retrofit this pack to be a medium frame, and the medium frame goes right right here. You can see that so there's the sizing for the large frame there's the sizing for the medium frame. Now it will fit under uh under an airline seat as it is in the large frame and will also fit in the overhead

 We'Ve got this nice mesh here, but then there's also some ribs. That kind of raise that you know to allow for some more airflow, which i think is really nice, these pockets, which you can pop out [ Applause ] and have extra little pockets here that you can put lenses in things like that. I mentioned lens pouches earlier. In fact, let me grab one of these, so i own several of these pouches, which are the think tank pouches

 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. Best Mirrorless Camera Bag? Atlas Packs Athlete Backpack

 I know this is intended for fast and light alpine climbing where a hydration hose may be subject to freezing but I like to have the option for days where it's not too cold. 

The good: This pack is made with high quality materials.  I've taken it out approximately 5 times now on various types of day hikes and I have no worries that this pack would take a beating and be no worse for the wear.  The simplicity of the bag is truly one of it's best features; simple pockets on the straps that are the perfect size for a cell phone in one and snack/chapstick/sunscreen in the other.  The magnet closure for the ice ax attachment works flawlessly and is pretty darn slick

Almost Perfect

I am using this for bike commuting, adventure by bike to run/climb and all other manner of self propelled nonsense. Being familiar with the hook and sternum strap from a previous UD Ski pack, I found it easy to take on and off, and covert back and forth, the ice axe holder on the back is probably my favorite feature, I can get it off my back at need without having to take the pack off. That's pretty innovative.

This is an ultra lightweight pack that is

So let’s take a look at the features that

Up front you have a harness system that borrows

So you have got dual sliding sternum straps.

Now I am going to take the pack off so we
can take a look at the harness and the back

Taking a look at the harness on the Fastpack
30, you can see that the entire back panel

here, as well as the back of the front straps,
is a single piece of fabric.

This is Ultimate Direction’s infinite construction.

And what that does is it cuts down on places
where you could get abrasions or hot spots,

any place that might chafe or wear during
the day.

So this is going to be very comfortable for
you all day long.

This pack also has a laminated, semi-rigid
back panel to give it some support and struc-ture.

That is removable in case you are looking
to travel even lighter and don’t need that

It packs out to about 31 liters actually,
so a little bit more than the 30 that is in

And you can see, again, it is just the roll
top construction and then you have a very

Inside there is a hydration sleeve where you
can put a hydration reservoir.

It has a hanger for it as well as an exit
point for the hose on the back side of the

To close it, you just roll this down like
you would a stuff sack or anything like that.

And then you can attach it to the side compression
straps.

And these are on either side of the pack and
you can see that they just clip in.

And then you are able to really tighten down
and cinch down your load.

So these side compression straps allow you
to actually use the pack down to about 20

So it can definitely adjust to fit your load,
whether you are looking to carry it full at

the 31 liters or a little bit less, again,
back down to about 20 liters.

You can also see on the front that there is
a really large, nice, stretchy stuff pocket

But there is a ton of room to fit more items
or gear here.

On either side, again, you have got some stretch
pockets here.

You can put water bottles in there, any kind
of gear that you want to access quickly there.

There is also a lot of options for securing
gear on the outside.

You can see that there is ice axe loops or
for trekking poles on the outside here, bungees

here and then this daisy chain on either side
where you can attach more gear.

So a lot of options of carrying your gear
and carrying it in a fashion that is going

We have some more storage options here on
the front of the pack.

So I am just going to turn that around so
you can see.

Up front here you can see there is a great
pocket for car-rying a water bottle.

Worth noting, this is not included with the
pack, but certainly an op-tion.

I have got a 20 ounce water bottle in here
now.

And then there is a nice little bungee to
tighten that down.

Coming around to the other side, you have
another large stretch pocket here.

Could put a water bottle in here or just anything
you want to access easily.

I have got some energy gels in there at the
moment.

And then you have a really nice large stash
pocket here.

Got a lot of nutrition in there as well as
my cell phone and there is still room to spare

You can also see up front here there are the
loops for securing a hydration hose or any

other kind of gear that you might want to
attach on the front.

Again, just a lot of options for how you would

 The water down from your reservoir it'll get a little bit looser. So definitely when you try this pack on for the first time, you want to have it loaded with gear so that you can really dial in that fit and know that you're getting the right size. This thing is built for the adventurer, who needs to take just the essentials out in the backcountry for a multi-day, fast-moving adventure. It'S the ultimate direction, fast pack, 45, thanks for watching

 This pocket big enough for most sized smartphones, some food. There there's even a CAF group behind that pocket. I'Ve got a water filter here on this side and then some extra little pockets down here, so plenty of storage right up front, and then you have adjustable straps that you can move up and down. There'S one on the top one on the bottom to really cinch it in and then you do have an adjustable strap on either side

 This pack comes in two different sizes, so you can really dial in which is best for you and what I would say is when this pack is actually completely full. It shrinks a little bit in size as you drink. The water down from your reservoir it'll get a little bit looser. So definitely when you try this pack on for the first time, you want to have it loaded with gear so that you can really dial in that fit and know that you're getting the right size

 So, starting here down on the belt, you've got one continuous piece of fabric all the way through they've eliminated those seams and hard edges that could cause chafing. It'S just really important when you're wearing this pack, all the time, there's a flexible foam back panel too. That gives a time bit of rigidity, but you can remove it if you want to save weight, that film has channels in it that actually provides a lot of breathability and then, of course, you've got all kinds of mesh back here now the hip belt does take Some of the weight off of your shoulders without being really bulky, I'm actually pretty surprised about the difference. This makes compared to some of the smaller packs in this line that don't have this extra little bit of hip belt
