I was looking for something that was comfortable with no sound leakage that I could drive directly from a laptop and not need an amp. The main purpose was just to listen to speaking videos with the above requirements. However, after reading the reviews it sounded like they would be good for music as well with an amp - which I do have (Mojo). So, unless I was wanting to listen to true audiophile music, I thought maybe this would save me from having to switch back and forth between headphones when I took a break from speaking videos to listen to some music At least that Is what I had hoped

Note: I am a tough reviewer and I am going to be looking at this from a music listening perspective. Pros: -Comfort I feel that they are very comfortable. The clamping force is not too much and not too little for me. The headband is made out of a leather type material (I don't know if its real leather or leatherette), but it is very comfortable

They are a bit muted in the sound signature which can make them less fatiguing than other, more analytical, headphones. Mids - A bit to high level for me, it tended to make punk rock music sound very close and muddied Lows - A bit boomy but very spacious Audio Technica ATH M-50x Highs - Quite good representation, a bit cold though Mids - Nothing special, no major issues though Lows - Too over-emphasized -----------------Comfort--------------- Beyerdynamic DT 770 - Winner Perfect. The 1/4 plug size matched the headphone amplifier outputs that are part of my system so felt that this was an O.K. trade.

I'm not concerned with the way they look. They aren't displeasing to me - but I'm also not thinking these are the coolest looking phones, but I don't care about that.

They're not the best looking headphones (big, bulky and flimsy carrying bag) but the sound is the most important thing for me. I tried Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones and, while I liked the sound, and the noise cancellation feature) I returned them because the left headphone stopped working after only two weeks. Then I tried Harman Kardon the NC Premium Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones. Wasn't too crazy about those either, and returned them

Isolation - They have a lot of passive isolation to them when you have them on (can't hear anything with music on). Outside of the headphones they don't leak a lot of sound (unless you have them cranked, and even then it's not blaring). If you want to use a mic while listening to music, you wont hear yourself at all. Cons: ***Cable length - You will need twist ties to use these as portables, the cable is extremely long Cups don't rotate in both axis, so carrying these around gets tricky (awkward shaped and big)
