 I can barely feel the knurl and my hands were sliding around the bar doing curls (I had 50lb on the bar, and the bar is 30). There was definitely a bit of residual manufacturing oil on the shaft so I'm going to wipe it down and give it another go but right now I'm very much not enjoying e-coat. Haven't tried skullcrushers yet but if curls had this much movement in-hand I'm not thrilled to put the bar above my head, lol. Will also plan to chalk up a bit and see if that helps but the e-coat is so slick and the knurl so passive that I don't think it will hold chalk very well

I've been complaining about rust on my black oxide vulcan curl bar but I totally get the advantage of black oxide now - it is far grippier and feels a lot like bare steel. Combined with a more aggressive knurl the vulcan bar feels a lot better to use but oiling it once a week still isn't stopping rust coming through in the cambered areas. I'm soaking the Vulcan bar in WD-40 now per their instructions so hopefully that will stave off the rust for a while (though it hasn't before, so I'm not that hopeful).

So is the Peloton Tread—with its built-in screen, designed to connect to Peloton’s subscription service—really worth it? With its first two treadmills—the first was unveiled in 2018—Peloton ran into several safety issues, and both the Tread+ and the Tread were recalled in 2021. The new Peloton Tread, however, is an updated version of the smaller of the two machines sold by the company, and includes a fix to the issue that caused the recall. (An updated version of the Tread+ has not been released.)

 That said, they rapidly get much more difficult once you get past the beginner classes. For example, in one intermediate Bootcamp class, the instructor listed a sprint interval of 9.0mph to 12.5mph with a 1

 I was skeptical, but it works seamlessly with the Tread and helps keep you engaged during off-treadmill workouts. 

 It seems almost like a waste of the tablet. The Just Run mode, which lets you use the treadmill without any classes, is OK but mind-numbingly boring. The included tray also isn’t really big enough to stick a tablet on it for alternative programming. If you’re planning on multiple people using this, y’all better be ready to pledge allegiance to Peloton

The keyword: most. This is still a full-on treadmill. It’s slimmer than many others, but it’s not the kind you can fold up and store in a closet when you’re done. Even though it has wheels, the Tread is something you permanently commit to parking in one place

What’s an excellent treadmill like you doing in this corporate disaster saga?

The classes are great, however, limited at longer lengths. The longest class is an hour and they don’t have a ton of instructors teaching that length. They have a feature called stacks where you can stack classes, which is what I normally do. 

Cannot recommend it enough, mostly I actually prefer running on my peloton vs outside. Which is an insane thing to say about a tread.

The machine is fantastic, very high quality and the track is amazing on your body. I’d say it’s a little more cushy than a wood way. 

Hey guys, since Covid began my running has suffered quite a bit.  I used to run a lot, especially during the winter, on the treadmill at the gym but have been staying out of the gym due to the virus.  The weather here is pretty nasty this time of year, so essentially I've been getting maybe 1 run in a week (compared to 6-7 that I used to do).   
 We finally decided to buy a treadmill and are looking at the Peloton Tread+.  I was hoping to get some impressions from tread+ owners from the perspective of how they are for marathon training.  I am not the most experienced marathoner, but I have done 3 of them so not a complete noobie either.  

\-I am a little concerned that most of the content is built around HIIT and intervals, and typically during training I'll only do 1 interval day a week.  Is this a problem for people?

\-Also, how is it running on the rubber slats for 1.5 hours?  Any specific problems people have with it compared to on a standard gym treadmill or a road?

Peloton Tread + For Marathoners

 honestly i think it's the same experience at less than half the cost of owning a Peloton tread

Few additions to Planet Thickness over the last couple of months: Titan SSB, treadmill, and most necessary...a space heater.

After checking rating and review sites to get recommendations for the best treadmill then visiting the manufacturers websites, getting quotes and comparing costs and features, we landed on the NordicTrack Commercial 2950 and the Commercial s22i Studio Cycle for our home gym. (The Peloton Tread and Bike were a close second as well as Bowflex). Before pulling the trigger on NordicTrack, we searched Google reviews and were shocked by the number of negative reviews. While it seemed like many of those reviews were related to NordicTrack service and issues with people who put the equipment together themselves, we're now worried

It was one of those purchases that made you keep thinking about their competitor. Well i just bought the X32i and I’m receiving it in 5 days! I opted for the 3 year warranty just in case and just ordered a 80x40 thick vinyl mat. Going to baby this one and plan on running 6 miles everyday. Gotta lose this covid fat baby!
