The Nathan TrailMix 7L is a lightweight but rugged, trail-specific hydration pack for more minimally-minded trail runners. We love the burly yet breathable backing, especially because it is surprisingly comfortable. The TrailMix has well-placed pockets to stash quick-draw items, like nutrition and your phone, and offers ample back-pocket storage for lesser-used items. The ruggedness of this pack makes it awesome for heavily wooded areas &mdash; the fabric won't snag on stray tree branches as you bound through the forest at top speed. 
The TrailMix didn't score as highly across the board as other hydration vests we tested, but it held its own for sure. The 7-liter storage capacity is smaller than some but still plentiful enough that we could stash everything we needed for a day in the mountains. If you are looking to go on ultra-long adventures, you might like a vest that offers a few liters more of storage. However, if you are a daily trail runner looking for a hearty pack that won't break the bank, we can't recommend the TrailMix enough.

Great for the long haul.  Lightweight, pockets for GU / chews and phone.  I like to freeze the hydration pack and is nice and cool against my back for warm weather runs in addition to ice cold drinking water!

 It’s there when you want to take a sip. This might not seem like a big deal until you’re late into a run or race and you’re tired and don’t want to fidget with the hose to get a drink. Lastly, we love that you can wear this vest with just a sports bra and not have to worry about chafing thanks to the soft touch binding on this vest.  Though we primarily tested it while running, we can see how it would also be good for day hikes and cycling. Fit for a Woman One of the main reasons we give this running hydration vest two thumbs up is because it fits great. It was specifically designed to fit a woman (hooray for a company that recognizes that you can’t just slap the color pink onto a product designed for a man and expect it to work for a woman!) This race vest is adjustable and tightens comfortably around our chests so that whatever we’re carrying in the vest doesn’t bounce nor interfere with our run.  Storage The front pocket of the Nathan TrailMix 7 Liter Women’s Multi-Adventure Vest is large enough to store a phone, map or gels

 The Nathan TrailMix 7 Liter Women’s Race Vest is one of the best women’s running vests on the market due to it’s design. There’s a daisy chain on the vest that allows you to hang a light from it when you go running in the dark. We also really love the bladder hose sternum attachment which keeps the piece that you drink from, in place. It really helps keep the hose from moving around during the run

Review of the Nathan TrailMix 7 Liter Women's Multi-Adventure Vest

 You can return anything within a year of purchase. I wasn’t sure how breathable and comfortable the vest would be for summer runs, so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to test the vest out, including for hot, humid runs. So how did it hold up for those hot runs? Great! I thought for sure I’d have a hot, sweaty back and would be too uncomfortable to wear the vest during the summer months (which, let’s be honest, the heat kicks in during the spring here and doesn’t cool down that much until mid-October) but never once was it an issue.  Why the delay in buying one? Well, running vests are considerably pricier than running belts, about twice the price. Still, I thought since I could also take my vest hiking it would be dual-purpose and well worth it (plus no more struggling with it during runs). I ran my fastest 5k ever wearing my Nathan running vest! After looking at several other companies’ running vests online last fall, I thought I’d go to REI to try one on and see which I liked the best. I tried on an Osprey, Salomon, and this one by Nathan

 It’s also specifically designed for women, has multiple adjustable straps, three pockets in the front, and three zippered pockets in the back.  I loved having my favorite Nuun on my long runs plus a small area for my phone and Honey Stinger chews but I hated having to constantly push the belt down when it inevitably slid up my hips, further and further up my waist. Finally, last October I took the plunge and bought a running vest, namely the Nathan Trail Mix 7 Liter Women’s Race Pack. From here on, I’m going to call it a running vest even though Nathan calls it a race pack. I had seen running vests primarily on marathoners and trail runners but also half marathoners and debated for a couple of years whether to buy one

It fits very snug, but I am in the process of losing weight so I pray it will fit loser by the time I have my first 5K in mid July. I have lost 48 pounds.
