 The USB dongle that comes with the headset allows you to use a USB port to connect the headphones. You do not need this dongle if you can plugin the headset directly to the computer audio output. Excellent for Video Conferences (during COVID-19 Telework)

 and suddenly the sound will cut out and my PC will no longer see the headset in the sound settings. The only way to fix it is by reaching down to my PC, unplugging and re-plugging it into the USB port. It doesn't happen super often, but it happens enough that I start to get pretty frustrated when I'm risking death in a game because I suddenly can't hear anything or speak to anyone for ~10 seconds while I fix it and wait for it to reconnect to my PC. Sometimes it happens hours apart, sometimes 10 mins

 I've used multiple headsets in that same USB slot and never had any disconnecting issues so I'm 99.99% positive it's not the USB port. Because of this issue alone, I would have returned this headset and maybe tried to get a different model or maybe even different brand, but my dog destroyed the product box shortly after receiving it so I guess I'm just going to use what I have.

 The last thing, and the one that really made me just shake my head, is that this headset will randomly just shut off, or lose power, or disconnect - I'm not sure which it is. All that I am sure of, is that *at least* once daily (if I'm using them for ~4 hours or more) I will be playing a game or listening to youtube, ect. and suddenly the sound will cut out and my PC will no longer see the headset in the sound settings. The only way to fix it is by reaching down to my PC, unplugging and re-plugging it into the USB port

 I would have to recommend another brand, at least for headsets. If I had to drive one final point home, it would be DON'T BE DISTRACTED BY CORSAIR'S SLEEK PRODUCT LOOKS, OFTEN TIMES THE PRODUCT QUALITY JUST ISN'T THERE AND PEOPLE OVERLOOK THIS BECAUSE THEY LOOK COOLER THAN MANY COMPETATORS PRODUCTS. So I got these because I had been using a cheap $35 gaming headset and wanted something a bit higher quality, and since about 60% of my PC was using Corsair parts already (that I was very pleased with) I decided to go with these since they seemed to be a nice, stylish gaming headset. But after receiving them and using them for a few months now, I have to say they were underwhelming from what I was hoping for

I saw forums with most people saying that adapter stopped working just a few months after getting the product

 While that did solve the problem I just want to share to Corsair that they should really look into a way to prevent or extend the longevity of the USB adapter. No one likes any electronic product to break down within a few months or even a week such as myself. Most gamers only have consoles so they need this adapter to use your product. Also Corsair if you do end up reading this please do not contact me to change my review by providing excellent service to me

Haptic feedback is really solid in the headset. Unfortunately the right cup randomly started popping and cracking for no reason. Had to send it to Corsair to replace it, as by the time it happened Amazon couldn't replace it or refund me. Was a shame

Really neat headset when it works as intended. (Revised)

 Comfort is 8/10. I only issue and this might just be for me, after wearing for a prolong period of time, my left ear kinda hurts and even after readjusting, I still find a pain. I make my reviews honest, real and from personal experience. Your experience might differ

Solid headset

 Reattaching the rings was an unholy and frustrating experience. Took me no lie, almost an hour to attach just one side, until I figured out a smarter-not-harder process - - attach a ring 90% of the way, then stretch the new pad around it. Only thereafter snap the ring the remaining way into place. The other side took me half the time using this method

Pads, which were in great condition, came off in just about 9 months of very light use - - I only put these on for about an hour 5 days of the week. Sound quality is good (7/10), noise canceling is okay (6/10) when you play with the mic positioning, build quality is bad (3/10). After both pads separated on the same day (one fell off, the other started to separate so I just removed it), I was able to see how poorly this part of the headset was manufactured. The lip part of the pad material (bottom you can't see) is stretched and glued to the underside of a plastic ring, which is then forcibly snapped into place onto that side of the headset (left/right)

 If this is a turn off, which it should be, buy another brand (not Corsair) that designed a headset with a mechanism to easily replace pads - this, along with sound quality and noise canceling, should be a prerequisite for any gamer. I put "Made in China" in the title to save everyone some time since that is easily the most searched term for most product listings on Amazon. I won't elaborate on the obvious, so make your own buying decision if "Country of Origin" is important. Unfortunately we have to make concessions for some product types, which either are not made elsewhere or cost significantly more

2019 edition - Multiple issues, deal breaker.

I bought the Arctis 1 for my son who is getting into gaming and I didn't want to go overboard with his headset (I am a gamer and have more expensive equipment but not about to have him start on that!). I was really surprised with the Arctis 1. It is very comfortable and light weight. The head strap padding is pretty good and the fit works both on my head and my sons head (12 years old)

He really likes the detachable mic (personally I don't care as I just use it for gaming, but he likes that he can connect it to different devices that don't use the mic and therefore doesn't have a large mic in his face). I was a little skeptical as SteelSeries makes great products, but hasn't done that well at this price point

Good value/fit/comfort

 It's high-end, but a step or two down from the company&rsquo;s flagship models (the Bluetooth-enabled Arctis 9 and the dual-battery Arctis Pro Wireless, both a few years old). It feels good, sounds good, and can wirelessly connect to a wide variety of devices besides PCs, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Android phones with USB-C ports. It faces stiff competition from above and below, though, with the Razer Barracuda X, an Editors' Choice pick, providing strong mic performance and the same wireless connectivity options for much less money, and the slightly pricier JBL Quantum 800 adding RGB lighting, Bluetooth, and active noise cancellation to the mix. Still, the SteelSeries Arctic 7+ is worth a purchase, especially if you're using it on PC

 When the track properly kicks in, the bassline sits slightly in front of the mix, but the vocals and guitar strums cut through to maintain their presence thanks to a bit of sculpting in the highs. In The Crystal Method&rsquo;s &ldquo;Born Too Slow,&rdquo; the backbeat gets enough punchy low-end force to drive the track, while the synth riffs and vocals come through sharply thanks to the headset&rsquo;s sculpting. In both cases, the Arctis 7+ sounds better in the Music EQ setting through Sonar, with the virtual surround sound feature turned off.

 The mic is its weakest point; it's not remotely bad, but just a bit fuzzier in the higher frequencies than we&rsquo;d like to hear. Even with the qualm, this is a strong choice, especially for PC gaming.

This headset will hurt your ears and head after a few hours of use This headset mic is not noise canceling, it in-fact picks up the sound from the headset speakers itself! So, you get reverb through voip which makes it a requirement to use push to talk. For almost $60 and a brand name you would expect some better padding on the ears, would fix the issue of noise going to mic as well. Overall this headset fails in comfort and functionality with a premium price.

Hopefully that's reasonable in my price range. From my own searching, **SteelSeries Arctis 7** sounds a lot like what I’m looking for, but I’d like some feedback before I make my purchase. Anyway, I hope I've given a good general idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks!

 The headset itself also _seemed_ fairly durable as, despite me dropping them on my hardwood floor somewhat often, they never had any apparent issues resulting from it. In addition, it's lasted me for years under heavy use and in this time I've only needed to replace the USB adapter once. This headset also has surround sound and some configurable acoustics options, but I never really used any of those options and turned off surround sound since it wasn’t great for my purposes.

 * Audio quality - no issues at all, at least from what I could tell. I'm not too picky about this though

Misc stuff: In all honesty, I only relatively recently got into the whole "HiFi" audio, I kinda dipped my toes in the water with the Grados and the Samson, loved them both, and am wanting to take that next step in the "audiophile" scene. 

I've personally been looking at three headphones, Massdrop x Meze 99, Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6xx, and getting a bit wacky the Verum 1's. I'm mostly interested in the range surrounding the first two, but if there are any kickass recommendations closer to the Verum 1's I'd check those out as well.

Overall I'm leaning towards the HD 6xx, even though I like the look of the Meze 99, because of the price point and the reviews I've heard. But since I'm so new to all this I figured I should ask the community for some backup opinions. Also, I plan on getting the Fiio K5 Pro because I've used Fiio products in the past and really like them, planning on it if I end up getting some more powerful headphones.

The 2.5mm headphone side of the cable has TRRS, so I assumed the headphones supported wired microphone access. However, the 3.5mm side of the cable only has TRS, and obviously none of these are microphone. I’ve googled around with little luck. Do they support the microphone in wired mode? If so, how?

AirPods are pretty good for what they are decent sound all around and they can fit in my pocket.

Though I can't say whether or not it's salvageable, I think it's about time I looked at getting a new set anyway. I had too much trouble removing screws for the temporary solution, so I ultimately stuck to messing with the power button as it continued to get worse, taking longer and longer to get balanced. As you can imagine, this was quite frustrating to deal with at times.

   I bought an original jaybird a loooong time ago because of their lifetime warranty.  So a few years ago that one died and they gave me an X-2; yeah!  But now my X-2 is about dead and so is their lifetime warranty...so I need some new bluetooth headphones.

   Any recommendations for something similar to the X-2s?  I am looking for good battery (the X-2 lasts me almost an entire 8 hour shift with it being playing/paused all day) and light weight.  I do not mind the very lightweight band that connects both sides, but anything heavy would be annoying.

What's the deal with earpads material, is it forbidden to use sponge/foam? I'm asking because I'm looking for replacement earpads that are not made of that faux leather crap for Sennheiser HD 400S and I'm going insane, they simply don't exist, can't find them anywhere.

I want my wife to do listening sessions with me so she can hear for herself why I bought some Senn HD 6XX, some Focal Elex, and a Modi/Magni Schiit stack. So I'm thinking all I need is some sort of Y splitter to plug into my amp.

But as always when it comes to all things audiophile, quality and performance have come into question.

 I am looking for headphones that are lightweight and portable while cancelling noises. I need them for Online Meetings in Uni so they need a decent mic too at least. I tried a pure office headset, the Poly Blackwire 8225, but I find myself listening to music a lot with it so I'd like one with at least mediocre mic and really good sound. I was looking to get the Sennheiser Momentum true Wireless 2, since I made a lot of really good experiences with Sennheiser but found a lot of bad ratings for them.

Looking for in-ear wireless headphones with a neck loop and a physical mute button.

I need the physical mute button as I am on a lot of calls during the work day on many different apps and devices so having a physical mute button that will ALWAYS mute me is essential. 

Multi device Bluetooth would be an awesome addition but not a deal breaker if not present. 


Budget - don't really care but also don't want to break the bank. Having said that, if they are the tits and can replace my MS Surface Headphones 2 then I'm willing to pay the dosh. If they can replace my gaming headphones as well (Arctis Pro Wireless) then even better/am willing to spend more. 

Source - Samsung S20 FE, Samsung Tab 5E, Dell laptop, possibly gaming PC but that'd be rare (unless they're truly awesome), maybe even the Sony TV.

My 18-yo son wears wireless headphones almost constantly (currently Cleer Enduro 100s) for music, games, and school. The problem is--other than not hearing me call him--that the head band has worn a quarter-sized bare spot on his scalp. The obvious solution would be to switch to IEMs, but he finds them uncomfortable. 

I'm looking for recommendations for closed-back wireless headphones that don't rub the top of your head or put much pressure on the scalp. Thanks!

I have a Creative Sound Blaster X7 which originally came with a headphone stand that could attach to the back. I purchased it years ago so I no longer know where that headphone stand is. Hello, I’m looking for wired in ear headphones with a decent mic. My budget is around €90(I’m in Belgium). I will be using these at home to play games on my laptop (nothing serious) and voicechat. I don’t need ones with high bass, although it would be a nice extra. I use apple earphones and those are fine, although I’d expect better quality for €90. I have a very soft voice and small ears so I’m looking for some that will make me understandable and won’t fall out of my ear. Thanks for the help!

Hello, I was trying to wire a headset from GA audio Plugs to a 3,5mm jack plug (Dropping the wire for the PTT) funktion. I have the following wires(seen in the picture below): white (which seems to be the mic, that allready worked witth black as ground), black(which is most likely ground), red, blue and yellow and the sleeving around the wires. For the rest of the wires I have tested several combinations of which it only worked when i shortet the red, blue and yellow wire together(it was very quiet). So I have no idea where to put these last 3 wires. Bose QC 35 II or Sony 1000MX4?

I’m looking to get a new set of headphones and I’m stuck between the Bose QC 35 II and the Sony 1000MX4. I will mainly use them for listening to music and with my PC. I’m not a fan of the way that Beats sound with bass, I like the natural sound of whatever music I’m listening to. My main questions are what the sound quality and comfort are like between the two. I will be using them for long periods of time and have slightly larger ears, so comfort is really important. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated, thanks!

 **Advice and clarification over IEMS** 

 Hello everyone. I have a pair of Shure SE 425s, and about a month ago I started to notice diminished sound in the right ear bud, so I tested to see if it was those IEMS specifically, or some other factor. I used my pair of 215s to test to see if it could be what I was plugging them into, or if my hearing was going out, and in the process, as pitiful as it sounds, I placeboed myself into not being able to tell what the hell the problem was. I was questioning myself to the point of whether or not I had ALWAYS diminished hearing in my right ear. 

Eventually I decided to just send them in to Shure for repair, as they are still under warranty. After waiting 2ish weeks for them to return, I want to make sure I’m not overlooking any possible factors of the diminished sound.

 I usually have them plugged into my Behringer UM2 (with the 1/4” jack adapter that Shure provides with the 425s). I’ve also plugged them into my computers motherboard (some kind of gaming motherboard, if anyone needs to know the model it would me time to figure it out lol), but I didn’t hear any “noticeable” difference. If anyone could help that would be great.

I'm currently waiting on the headphone adapter (oops) and an on-the-wall 6 outlet surge protector to extend my pluggability. Once those come in, I plan to test with the JBLs and, if I'm not blown away, look for a good set of headphones.

These will be used 100% on my desktop PC. My computer/audio usage is about  70% Gaming, 20% Music, and 10% other media. I'm not going for anything specifically "gaming" because I'd rather the entire soundscape sound better than amplify footfalls or whatever.

So I recently bought the Takstar Pro 82 on Amazon for 65€ (\~76 USD) and I received the old version. It came in a white box with a 2.2m cable. I even removed an ear pad to confirm it has the old 32 ohms drivers.

 Your wireless receiver, also known as like your dongle, like we see in a lot of wireless headsets right, but this guy, as you can see, is routed through the usb that is connected, and you set this on top of your desk or wherever you want on the Bottom, you have your connect which, by the way it connects by itself, you don't even have to hold this button down and you flick the pc or playstation right there as far as mac. You just leave it on pc and it works like that. It'Ll actually light up on the front white whenever you're connected to pc and then blue, whenever it's switched over to mac and then also on the back of this little deal here you have game in in line out, so you can also plug in like again your Regular set of headphones or something and have it come out there, which i did and weirdly to say, like my regular headphones, had a little boost coming out of this. It sounded great, almost like a little receiver right here

 So again, kind of think, if you like that natural, balanced bass with highs and your mids kind of doing their thing, that's what you get with the arctis headsets, and that goes across multiple styles of game. My three games of choice lately are dauntless call of duty and then insurgency sandstorm. So we got a wide array right. There dawnlets the base all there, the insurgency sandstorm with all the detail and then call of duty with the jumble of everything going on right

 7.1, it just you know, makes the sound sound distant, real echoey. I can't stand it right. It just brings out the highest drops the bass, but the dts here really doesn't just gives a little more detail brings out the environment a little bit more and it just really crisps up that sound

 So i think it's picking up a lot of that background noise as far as the side tone. So as far as it, i think low is probably the best i don't know, maybe lower medium high is unbearable, but i barely use my microphone anyway, so i just keep it off so now coming over here to the settings tab, you have your power options as Far as whenever you're not using the headset auto power off five to never, i leave mine on 30 nice little timeline in case i just set it down come down here. Bluetooth, auto startup, you've enabled this as far as your bluetooth, it'll turn on with the power of the headset right there and then automatically pair up to whatever device you added on whether it be your phone or whatever, really cool feature. If you want that always to power on, i leave mine off so again, just whenever i'm using it, i can turn it on myself on the headset all right
