Comfort

Corsair HS80

(1/2)

I think the earpads are a downgrade from the wired version, but aside from that it's been like my ideal headset. It's still comfy, but not as comfy as the wired Alphas. Replaceable earpads like Wicked cushions worked and fit for me and are a big improvement over the default. The headband extension is about the same as the wired Alphas

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

When I tried the largest of the three included ear tips, they fit snugly and comfortably. (A single Buds 2 bud weighs 5 grams while the Buds Pro and Buds Plus buds both weigh 6.3 grams.)

Battery Life

Corsair HS80

(1/2)

The battery icon changes based on integer percentages (90%, but no 90.1%). The 300 hour battery claim seems to be accurate so far. Also the power button on the headset that tells the battery only updates every 10%, so it'll only tell 100%, 90%, 80%, and so on

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

(1/1)

Regardless of the shifting, they haven't fallen out at all. Honestly I feel like the only noticeable differences between these and my old buds is the battery life and Bluetooth range. Overall they are unremarkable. I'm sure you could find a comparable quality pair of buds for half the price

While the Buds 2 look more like shrunken versions of the Buds Pro, I found them more akin to the Buds Live in that they barely stick out of your ears and are discreet. Because they sit more flush with your ears -- and have that curved design -- they also pick up less wind noise.

Sound Quality

Corsair HS80

(1/3)

Corsair impressed me last year with its $150 HS75 XB Wireless, an Xbox-exclusive wireless headset that looked and felt more like a high-end set of headphones than a gaming accessory. They also had great sound quality and an easy-to-learn button layout with the right amount of features. It wasn’t necessarily a flaw that they only worked with Xbox consoles, but no one likes to be excluded. The company has now released the HS80 RGB Wireless for the same $150 price with PlayStation compatibility, but these aren’t quite the successor that I was expecting or hoping for

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

Samsung has improved its Ambient mode so it sounds natural at the low and even the mid setting, though the high setting really does artificially augment the sound around you. However, the AirPods Pro remain the gold standard in the transparency department.

Durability

Corsair HS80

(1/2)

I love my Razer Nari for it and I detest Razer devices (especially mice) and software. Honestly I'm bouncing between a few old ones seeing which feels the best. As for which: Astro A40TR (as I recently found my old pair and they still work 5 years later), Razer Nari (for the flex band and earcups), and the Virtuoso for it's connectivity to my RGB setup. Two of those are wireless because I prefer that, however I like the mixamp from Astro enough to forego that

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

I would recommend not buying these earphones since they only have three sizes for your ears and if none of them fit, they will fall off constantly. Bad purchase and I regret buying. Don't buy.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Corsair HS80

(1/1)

What an odd niche to try and fill. UPDATE - So I have been back and forth with Corsair since purchasing this headset (great support, btw - 10 out of 10 for this) - they never led on that the mic would not work across Bluetooth, but everything we tried had no effect. Today I installed a new Logitech mouse on my system - previously had a Corsair unit with their software installed. After uninstalling the Corsair mouse software, the mic started working across Bluetooth

It works when I'm trying to push the earbuds back in my ear... but will not respond when I actually need it to

Noise Cancellation

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

(1/2)

But what about the Galaxy Buds Pro? How do Samsung’s entry-level earbuds stack up to its most expensive pair? The company predictably says its top-tier earbuds deliver superior audio quality and more powerful ANC. The latter point is accurate: the Buds 2 have the kind of noise cancellation that’s competent but never wows. Their ambient sound also sounds very computerized and artificial, so that’s another area where the Buds Pro fare better. And some features like 360 audio and automatic switching between Samsung devices are absent

Price Point

Corsair HS80

(1/1)

I really wanted to like them, but for $150, I personally don’t think it’s worth it with all the downsides. If it was priced around $100, I might have kept them.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

(1/1)

Have had the previous generation buds, 1st gen echo buds, and air pod pros all of which sound significantly better then these. Was very disappointed to see the issues/complaints others had as being valid! My biggest reason I'm returning these is they sound like cheap $30 wireless buds you buy from some knockoff brand, there is nothing that I could do equalizer wise, Dolby Atmos, or otherwise to make these even sound remotely acceptable. The bass was either drowning out all mids and highs, or too low depending on what type of eq you choose in the gear app or phone settings (using a S21 ultra), the best I could get honed in still sounded either tinny for rock music drums and not enough vocals for electronic or rap music. Returning these and bought the echo buds gen 2 which sound NIGHT and DAY difference better, don't waste your time or money on these as even with Samsung phones they suck!
