Comfort

Corsair HS80

(1/2)

I think the earpads are a downgrade from the wired version, but aside from that it's been like my ideal headset. It's still comfy, but not as comfy as the wired Alphas. Replaceable earpads like Wicked cushions worked and fit for me and are a big improvement over the default. The headband extension is about the same as the wired Alphas

SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition

(1/1)

I have gone through a bunch of different headsets in my life but this is truly my favorite. Comfort: I did a marathon game day of about 15 hours with minimal breaks in between and these never got uncomfortable. Sound: Stereo sound is great, multi channel (DTS/Atmos) is amazing. Noise: I really can't even hear people knock on my door when I have these on and I'm not too far from that door

SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition

I'm a small person, with an average size head and average but slightly pokey-outey ears. The fabric and the stretch fabric on the headset is very comfortable and breathable. It angles just a touch forward when I wear it, which is not noticeable after a few minutes. The retractable microphone works very well, and my raid leader says I'm very crisp - definitely not the case with my knockoff cheapo headset

Sound Quality

Corsair HS80

(1/3)

Corsair impressed me last year with its $150 HS75 XB Wireless, an Xbox-exclusive wireless headset that looked and felt more like a high-end set of headphones than a gaming accessory. They also had great sound quality and an easy-to-learn button layout with the right amount of features. It wasn’t necessarily a flaw that they only worked with Xbox consoles, but no one likes to be excluded. The company has now released the HS80 RGB Wireless for the same $150 price with PlayStation compatibility, but these aren’t quite the successor that I was expecting or hoping for

Sound quality is good, but it turns to potato quality as soon as I transition to two-way audio like a phone or discord call. The audio is made louder than it should be, and if I go lower than about the bottom 10% of my device's volume then it turns off entirely on the headphones. My new headphones also have near useless isolation, which is a bit of an issue.

Durability

Corsair HS80

I love my Razer Nari for it and I detest Razer devices (especially mice) and software. Honestly I'm bouncing between a few old ones seeing which feels the best. As for which: Astro A40TR (as I recently found my old pair and they still work 5 years later), Razer Nari (for the flex band and earcups), and the Virtuoso for it's connectivity to my RGB setup. Two of those are wireless because I prefer that, however I like the mixamp from Astro enough to forego that

Product Great headphones Comfortable Good mic Good sound Good software Bottom line is great product if it doesn’t break, but if it breaks and you didn’t buy it from steel series directly then there is no chance in getting a new headset. DONT BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO GET A NEW ONE WHEN THE FIRST BREAKS AFTER A YEAR. Update: after a few months was finally able to get credit from steel series to order a new set. Turns out buying from Amazon is not actually an issue but steel series customer service is

Bluetooth Connectivity

Corsair HS80

(1/1)

What an odd niche to try and fill. UPDATE - So I have been back and forth with Corsair since purchasing this headset (great support, btw - 10 out of 10 for this) - they never led on that the mic would not work across Bluetooth, but everything we tried had no effect. Today I installed a new Logitech mouse on my system - previously had a Corsair unit with their software installed. After uninstalling the Corsair mouse software, the mic started working across Bluetooth

What I would like to improve: Being able to manually balance volume between chat and games, as well as having better bluetooth. The bluetooth module on the new headphones is pretty bad. Sound quality is good, but it turns to potato quality as soon as I transition to two-way audio like a phone or discord call. The audio is made louder than it should be, and if I go lower than about the bottom 10% of my device's volume then it turns off entirely on the headphones

Noise Cancellation

SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition

Length of the plug leading from the headset to the dial toggle is very generous, as well as from the dial toggle to the computer. Due to USB hogging I have to use the top of my tower USBs, but no problem at all, very forgiving in length. I haven't had it fall out yet but I'm not headbanging while raid healing. The dial toggle is very cool! I can use it to easily mute out game noise if there's an issue, or vice versa if everyone is just talking about nothing and I want to tone them down
