Corsair VIRTUOSO RGB WIRELESS XT vs Jabra Evolve2 65

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is pretty close to what I'm looking for except for the fact that the mic is omnidirectional. Budget - $300 CAD. Although willing to stretch to $400. Source/Amp - Plugged into onboard soundcard (mostly)

The Jabra Evolve2 65 Bluetooth headset gets the important things right, like a comfortable fit and good mic clarity, and really knocks it out of the park with excellent stereo audio performance.

I want to like this so bad, but I might have to return/exchange if this doesn't get better. UPDATE: I was able to get in touch with Jabra customer support. The rep was very helpful and informative, but ultimately we still could not do any firmware update via the mac version of Jabra Direct. I ended up finding a Windows computer to borrow and was able to update it that way

I've already tried the top 2, that being Steel Series Arctis Pro Wireless and the Corsair Virtuoso XT. Unfortunately, I had some problems with both of them though, so I ended up returning them. The Steel Series had a constant white noise sound in them that I couldn't get rid of no matter what I did.

Between this and the "mic noise cancelling being terrible" issue, I am having no luck with this head set and am looking to replace it.

Even when using the default "Pure Direct" EQ settings or my tweaked EQ settings there is sometimes a crack/pop/distortion in both certain games/music which occurs that is very unpleasant. Yes I may have received a defective pair of cans but I cannot unhear the distorted audio. 2nd biggest issue from my perspective. Pads are a bit shallow for me personally and my ears touch the inside near the driver

The three-mic array offers superb intelligibility. Using the Voice Memos app on an iPhone 8, we could understand every word perfectly clearly, with zero hint of Bluetooth distortion. The recording was crisp and clear, with a little bit of low-frequency depth to it. Not only is the mic of solid quality, but the boom placement also helps tremendously here

UPDATE: I managed to install iCUE 4 on another computer, and I can confirm that with the LEDs off, the battery lasts much longer. Now, the issue is that it can't charge fast enough, even on a very good USB charger. Somewhere in the labyrinth of articles that corsair calls their help system, I read that for some reason, it should be charged from a standard USB port instead of a charger, but that didn't charge it fast enough either. Ten-ish hours of charging should be enough to fully charge it, but it's not

Corsair mades ZERO replacements to their proprietary earpad design. If you buy the pads the same thickness as the stock ones that the headset came with, they are reviewed as not as comfortable as the stock pads..

My work gave me a pair of Jabra Evolve 75 which I've been using for almost a month now. And while they are fine I'm having a huge issue with comfort, they clamp my ears a bit, but much worse that I hate how it feels on my head, the headband is sharp and digs into the small point it contacts with my head causing great annoyance. So I have the option of turning them in and getting $150 to find a different pair (however, price isn't a factor).

I bought them on sale, so with the earpads added it was something like $270 total. My head is small, so I bought it despite the reviews that warned me about this. I wanted a headset I could connect to both my home and work PC at the same time and these allowed for that due to the bluetooth. They're sturdy, good quality build, and the battery life is great

The problem is they only support terrible encodings, and the dongle they ship with the headset is, I'm pretty sure, a class 2 Bluetooth antenna (though I've never gotten them to admit this, support always hides behind the bullshit excuse of "max ranges are not guaranteed" despite the fact that their product demonstrably underperforms relative to other products which advertise much shorter ranges). Moral of this story is don't buy Jabra unless you like monster cable levels of markup for Comcast levels of support and avoid them like the plague of you care at all about performance, particularly range.

Even their much cheaper HS80s have that design. It is kind of crazy they didn't use it as it is just objectively more comfortable and these are so dang expensive. In the end, my biggest issue is Corsair putting these at a price point north of $250 and people having to buy aftermarket earpads for them to keep them on for more than 30 min without getting a headache. In the end, I don't think I'd recommend these to anyone given the price

I know these are not 400 dollar phones, but when I get better range out of a pair of $70 earbuds (not a big name either), it's VERY disappointing. I've tried with the dongle and Bluetooth, no diff. I'm no looking to spend a ton of money; was really hoping to get better range in the house. I may return them
