Corsair VIRTUOSO RGB WIRELESS XT vs Sennheiser HD 700

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is pretty close to what I'm looking for except for the fact that the mic is omnidirectional. Budget - $300 CAD. Although willing to stretch to $400. Source/Amp - Plugged into onboard soundcard (mostly)

Fortunately, the cord that Sennheiser sells for their 477 and 497 headphones fits the HD700 just fine. As I mention in the review below, the connection to the headphone is usual sub-mini mono TS phone plug, so these are headphones that you should be able to make a cord for, of wire of your choice, in a length of your choice. The case is holding up well: I pack the headphones in it five days a week as I head for work. The ear pads and headband strap are in good shape, and they are easy to keep clean

I've already tried the top 2, that being Steel Series Arctis Pro Wireless and the Corsair Virtuoso XT. Unfortunately, I had some problems with both of them though, so I ended up returning them. The Steel Series had a constant white noise sound in them that I couldn't get rid of no matter what I did.

This might be unique to me but it is bad ju-ju. * listening to piano tracks, you can hear the keys and pedal felts and paddings brush, along with other nuances that were not there with the BOSE QC15s, Bose Noise Canceling Earbuds, 5.1 120 Cenimate and Soundtouch 20, Vmodas.

Even when using the default "Pure Direct" EQ settings or my tweaked EQ settings there is sometimes a crack/pop/distortion in both certain games/music which occurs that is very unpleasant. Yes I may have received a defective pair of cans but I cannot unhear the distorted audio. 2nd biggest issue from my perspective. Pads are a bit shallow for me personally and my ears touch the inside near the driver

After the Sennheiser ones broke, I used the AKG earbuds that came in with my Samsung Galaxy S8+. They sounded worse, but kind of okay. When these broke, I used my mother's AKG earplugs from her Galaxy S7.

Corsair mades ZERO replacements to their proprietary earpad design. If you buy the pads the same thickness as the stock ones that the headset came with, they are reviewed as not as comfortable as the stock pads..

Pros of the 700 Incredibly comfortable. These are light and have minimal clamp force. The ear pads are shaped like an ear and not an oval. The highs are amazingly detailed

Even their much cheaper HS80s have that design. It is kind of crazy they didn't use it as it is just objectively more comfortable and these are so dang expensive. In the end, my biggest issue is Corsair putting these at a price point north of $250 and people having to buy aftermarket earpads for them to keep them on for more than 30 min without getting a headache. In the end, I don't think I'd recommend these to anyone given the price

So far these cans are pretty good for the current price (499). I will keep it short ( I lie ) as i haven't run it through the full lot of tests but so far i believe I've found many of its pro's and cons. Some notes to my Sennheiser history, my first set of quality headphones was the HD205 (one of the best cheap headphones) and the most expensive HD800's I've listened to and tried with notable amplifiers and mods.
