What can i say, i love my full metal corsair products, the RGB is really cool how they have the ring around the mic! The audio is great when its in the wireless mode and its even better when you use the Aux cord. The pressure on my ears isn't a problem because of the soft foam inside The headset fits great tho its not the softest head padding Yeeeeeeee yeeee Over all i would say you cant go wrong here, a must buy! Edit: after using it for awhile i would it needs some softer head padding

FULL Metal, RGB, Great Audio, Wired and wireless!

I'm writing this review on day 3 of owning, and these are the perfect well-rounded pair of wireless headphones. These replaced the Void Pro headset of mine and while I thought the Void Pros were top tier a year ago, the XT makes the Void lineup look like Skullcandy. The headset is nice and light, has an above average microphone, dual connection between dongle/bluetooth at the same time, and even a 3.5mm port for an external DAC

 "Discord Certified" but causes issues with Discord keybinds unless Discord is set in administrative mode and/or compatibility mode. Then you have issues sharing media in chat, issues with Steam Overlay, and other issues compounding on top of that, (something you shouldn't have to deal with). With iCue closed and not running, some Corsair services remain active in the background which destroys battery life on multi GPU laptops, as the services prevent Windows from utilizing the "onboard" GPU. After disabling/removing the Corsair services my GPU auto switching was fixed

Worst headset ever purchased.

 I wanted something wireless to avoid extra wires without compromising quality of sound on the mic end and audio end. Below I breakdown pros and cons mostly from a wireless perspective. Price: After watching review after review of Yotubers comparing these to other headsets that are significantly more expensive, I had a feeling these would be worth it. And so far they are

 Wireless: The dongle provided is built strong and looks good. Functionally awesome too considering I can walk around my apartment without losing audio or mic connection. Comfort: Comfy but a bit too snug. The snugness does help with sound isolation though

 The "Premium" version is worth it for the build and audio quality obtained considering it is wireless. Build: Quality build. Sturdy while looking really clean and cool. The RGB is a plus considering I already use Corsair's iCue software for my PC fans and keyboard

Worth it and comparable to more expensive gaming headsets

Overall the build, the sound, they're decent but for the cost of these headphones one should expect great. however that's not the real problem. The big problem is the mic on/off is a button press (an oddly very cheap feeling button given the rest of the headset) so the way these things show you and the only way to know if the mic is on or off is a little color circle around the mouthpiece. standard Red for off and green for on except this just doesn't work, it might flip the colors or it might stay on only one color even if you've switched it on or off

Personally the pleather doesn't bother me but comfort is subjective for the corsair XT since round earcups isn't everyone's cup of tea. 

Hello all, I would like to have recommendations on whether I should buy a new headset or wait for new iterations to release.

My current headset (Arctis 7 bought in 2017) recently started to have problems. Basically, I'm hearing that internal parts started to fall apart inside the headphones and hear small parts moving around when moving my head, when listening to low volume stuff I hear static and sometimes the bluetooth disconnect for a split second.

I've started looking into new headphones and I'd like to go into something more high end. Tha Audeze Mobius, Orbit Cloud S, Arctis Pro, Corsair Virtuoso XT are some examples. But, wireless for me is a must and unfortunately, only the Arctis Pro and Virtuoso fulfills this requirement. However, I've seen that most of the new headphones have all released in 2019 and couldn't find anything past that year.

My question is: Do you guys know when new iterations of headphones get released? I couldn't find anything about this on google so I'm wondering if it's worth it to wait (perhaps new versions release this November 2021 or early 2022) or just buy something now (I would love to buy the Mobius if they ever come out wireless). My Arctis 7 are still performing okay so I can keep them a while longer but I don't know for how long.

TLDR; When do new iterations of headphones release? Is it worth to wait a new version (open to various brands) or buy the ones on the markets right now (2019 release by the latest)

New Gaming Headphones: Buy or Wait?

 I found those to be a more comfortable headset than the virtuoso rgb wireless xt, and the headband also features little indicators on the side when making sizing adjustments. So if you do have to adjust it often it's easy to remember. You know what's the best setting for your head and to dial it in quickly and while the xt is okay for passive noise cancellation, you know just for blocking out noises when you have the headphones on uh for me because of those uh more shallow earcups. I did find that other headsets do it better, like the razer black shark v2, even and the jbl quantum 800, which is another headset

1.2 system that we took a look at a little while ago, but for the virtuoso xt that can be enabled on a pc through the dolby atmos app typically getting dolby atmos through the access app can cost 15. But corsair has provided that license so as soon as you plug this thing in the dolby, access app will recognize that you have a rgb wireless xt plugged in and it will be able to enable dolby atmos for this headset and while the xt doesn't incorporate any Speakers above or anything like that, atmos helps to process audio and play sound effects in the sound stage in a more immersive way for separation and clarity, and in my experience it actually helps and enabling dolby atmos does negate any sort of eq tweaks that you make Within the iq software for the xt, but the dolby access app has its own suite of eq controls. So if you do want to do some tweaking in there and set up your own profile, that's really easy to do within the access app

 So i was able to get a little bit further away from my computer with the virtuoso xt than like the blackshark v2 pro or the quantum 800, and still keep a pretty strong signal and that wireless dongle can be used on. You know not only pc and mac, but also used on playstation, which is really great for this headset and then moving on that connectivity lineup. Obviously, the usb-c cable is also going to provide really great audio quality when you do have it plugged into a pc or mac as well, and then that 3.5 millimeter cable with those inline controls make it completely compatible with xbox, which is awesome

 That instantly turned me into a first person, shooter god or anything like that, but i definitely found myself preferring the dolby atmos mode when gaming and really even when listening to music. I didn't find a reason that i had to turn it off so for both gaming and listening to music. I think that the corsair virtuoso rgb wireless xt is a great sounding headset with some great you know: positional clarity for pinpointing different audio cues, but listening doesn't stop just on the battlefield. You know you can take this and listen to dolby atmos media on netflix or any other streaming service and uh watching 600 rounds, which has been my fun way to test out different uh sound modes when watching media

, But hopefully this'll still work.. Now I'm gon na start capture on the top camera. Because that one's likely to shake when I start it off, and I don't want to have to use video stabilization if I can help it and then I start this one off

, And I want to be able to show various things with this headset, including the ear cups, because they've obviously made them bigger, deeper. And that's gon na be a big important focus for me. It will be really interesting to get the SE out and compare it with this and be able to talk about that. I can also see some differences immediately here

Behind the Scenes with the Corsair Virtuoso XT (and SE)

Hello, this is The Provoked Prawn, back with
another Behind The Scenes video and this time

on the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless XT. Now I
had this headset revealed to me by Corsair,

I actually saw it in a tweet that went out
and I messaged the PR about it because I wanted

to talk to them about this headset because
this is follow up to the Corsair Virtuoso,

which is a headset that I reviewed probably
a year ago, maybe more, it feels like longer,

but it might not be, and a potentially fantastic
headset. Now hopefully this video give you

some insight into a number of different things
but I want to talk to you about is the logic

and the thought process I go through. So for
example, when the Virtuoso was announced I

was really excited, because I've always felt
that Corsair's headsets weren't that great.

The Void Pro and the Void Elite were kind
of not that impressive. And the Virtuoso represented

a leap forward in the quality of the headsets.
It was a wireless headset, which also had

a USB-C connection that in theory would allow
for 96 kilohertz audio, which is high res

audio over a wired connection on PC and virtual
surround sound. You could also connect in

other ways with a 3.5 mil connection. And
you could use USB-C to your phone as well

if you have an Android phone. So there's multiple
different connection options. And it will

also connect wirelessly and promised decent
battery life. And it also had a really good

look to it, a really nice aesthetic, and it
looked like it was really well built and really

good quality. When I reviewed it, I thought
it was fantastic in the sound quality and

also the microphone capture was really really
impressive. And unfortunately, I then came

to the conclusion that it was not comfortable,
for me personally I found it was uncomfortable.

The ear cups were too small and they were
too shallow and it pressed up against my ears

and squashed them and it made it really uncomfortable
to wear for more than a couple of hours, which

was a real shame and it basically destroyed
it for me. And I wasn't happy to recommend

it. I also had some other complaints in that,
for example, why didn't it have a Bluetooth

connection. That seemed like something that
other people were doing quite well. Steelseries

has a number of headsets that have a Bluetooth
connection as well as a wireless connection.

They have the Arctis Pro wireless also the
Arctis 9, there are some other devices from

other companies that also offer a similar
connectivity, a number of other headsets that

I've tested more recently than the Virtuoso
which had the similar offering. So it was

really disappointing they hadn't done that
and I thought they'd missed out potentially.

And that's where this headset is exciting,
the XT, because it does have Bluetooth so

it's got, as well as having wireless slipstream
wireless technology it also has Bluetooth

connectivity. So potentially very good. Also,
they've increased the size of the ear cups,

or at least at least the depth of them. And
that was something I was quite keen to ask

the PR person about. Also, this video is potentially
exciting, or at least for me, because this

is one of only a handful of review devices
that are available in the UK and I was selected

as one of the people to get hands on and to
be able to review it, which is great. I would

like to give some love to Corsair because
they have helped me out in another way. So

as long, alongside the release of the Corsair
Virtuoso, was released the Corsair Virtuoso

SE, which you can see here. The SE was meant
to be a superior version to the Virtuoso in

that it had a better microphone, a larger,
bigger, better microphone and some other minor

differences. I believe it comes with a carry
case, for example, I'm not 100% sure on that.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the SE
at the time because I wasn't big enough in

terms of the channel size and number of views
and things like that. And so I was stuck with

the base model. A lot of people then commented
on that video of my review saying, oh, the

mic on this sounds great sounds better than
the SE. And apparently people who review the

SE at the time and had it when it first launched
found problems with a microphone or it wasn't

as good capture quality. And so everyone was
sure because of all the number of reviews

that came out that the SE had a really poor
quality mic and wasn't great for sound capture,

which I thought was a bit odd, because I had
a friend who bought the SE version Special

Edition, and his mic sounded fine. So I thought
it was strange. So maybe it had been fixed

with a firmware update. So what I did was
I asked for so was when they were sending

me the SD if they wouldn't want to send an
e. l enable me to then do multiple videos

here. So what you're looking at actually is
the potential for several different videos

not only have I got an unboxing and review
of the XT, which is obviously going to be

the priority. I can also now finally review
the SE and I can do some comparison videos

to compare the original Virtuoso with the
XT and the SE with the XT and maybe the SE

with the original, depending on how enthusiastic
I am. So there's potential for a multitude

of videos there as well as proof that the
SE's microphone isn't rubbish, so that could

be the review title for this one, for example,
Virtuoso SE a year on, or a year later review,

the microphone isn't rubbish. So this behind
the scenes is essentially me telling you how

I'm planning out all these things and the
sort of logic behind it. And then hopefully,

capturing footage of both of these headsets,
especially the XT, I'm going to do the usual

unboxing, get some really good footage of
it, some really great big slider to get some

really close up shots and focus on the quality,
and the differences, obviously, with the bigger

ear cushions, focus on those and talk about
them, and the highlights and the aesthetics

and overall look and feel of it and hopefully
capture that, and then do a video on the SE

as well, get loads of B-roll of that, and
then be able to compare them side by side.

So there we have a potential for a load of
really good videos, and hopefully some insight

into how I operate, because obviously the
thought process isn't "oh, a new products

out, let's review", it's actually "oh, I can
compare it with the old one, oh, and also,

maybe now I get the opportunity to review
a device I never got to see in the first place

and prove people wrong, or at least show that
those original reviews weren't correct. And

actually this device, the SE might still be
good to purchase if you can get cheaper on

eBay, or maybe you don't want the XT and the
SE is good enough". Those are the things that

might be useful to people. So watch out for
those videos in the near future. And now join

with me on a trip into how I'm going to capture
footage on these two headsets and see some

of the B-roll and then the joy that comes
with unboxing. So one of the things I'm not

shown with the behind the scenes videos before
is a sort of logic that I use with the cameras,

so I've talked about this camera, it's a GH4
with a Rode Pro VideoMic on it. I'm going

to get this into a position to view the Virtuoso
XT here and I'm thinking about what sort of

lens I'm gonna use. So I've got the 12 to
60 Lumix lens on there, which has a zoom on

it, this has been one of the main lenses on
it, the reason why is you can kind of get

it sort of close to the product, whereas I
actually prefer this macro lens, but this

macro lens gives a better quality. So this
is the [Lumix 30 mil f2.8] macro lens, this

actually gives a better quality. But if you
use the macro lens, you have to put it across

the other side of the room if you're trying
to capture something large. And so I'd have

to put the camera over there in order to capture
this. And that's not ideal. So I start off

with this 12 to 60 mil. And also for the top
down shot, I'm going to use this 7 to 14 wide

angle, that gives me a bigger sort of space,
it might sometimes be a bit too wide, though,

I've used this in previous shots, and it made
me look a bit big and it also makes things

look a bit stretched if you're not careful.
So you've just got to be really careful with

a sort of set up of what lenses you use. But
again, if I use a macro lens up here, it probably

won't work with a headset, because I'd have
to put it right up in the air. If I was using

a mouse I could maybe fit it in with, with
a mouse and a macro lens, that might work

because that top down sort of distance would
probably be enough. But for this I need a

bit of range. But I'm going to try and get
two different angles, so I can get some really

good quality shots, I thought might be interesting
to see what the thought behind the lenses

and why I use different setups. The other
thing I've done is it also just recently purchased

another Video Pro Mic here. And the reason
for that is because I'm capturing footage

 For decently priced headphones I’m disappointed. I didn’t want to have to spend the money on Bose, but I guess I have no choice.

 However, the first pair I bought that were black/red lasted like 4-5 months. I thought maybe it was just me and switching back and forth between my desktop and laptop. So I figured I would try them again and just buy a pair to keep with my laptop. I’ve had the new pair for like two weeks just with my laptop and they’re already dead smh

Second pair of the same, both died fairly quickly.

This is such a powerful earphone. At this price range, it is the best wired earphone I have ever used. I'll update to see whether it's durable. Earphone usually don't last longer than 6 months in my hands

Best wired earphone!

The Sony MDR-XB50AP Extra Bass are average mixed usage in-ears with an emphasis on bass. They're portable, stable and block an above-average amount of noise which makes them a decent choice for commuting. Unfortunately, they aren't the most balanced-sounding headphones. They should be okay for casual listening but the excess bass won't be ideal for more critical listeners

 It comes with various tips, I took the time to find my right fit and when I did it was perfect. I can't say anything else but give it a try, the price is pretty great in comparison to the big name brands and if it doesn't work you can just return it.

 So I decided to go back to wired headsets and as Sony has a reputation for producing great sound I decided to give this a try. The sound is wonderful, clear and crisp with a generous amount of base. It comes with various tips, I took the time to find my right fit and when I did it was perfect. I can't say anything else but give it a try, the price is pretty great in comparison to the big name brands and if it doesn't work you can just return it

Worth it!! I've over the years invested in every kind of wireless headset, from Bose to Apple to Samsung and I've given them all away because I'm some way or the other they failed me. It was either that the sound wasn't great, the fit was uncomfortable, or they caused ringing in my ears. So I decided to go back to wired headsets and as Sony has a reputation for producing great sound I decided to give this a try. The sound is wonderful, clear and crisp with a generous amount of base
