ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

(1/2)

So far I have only tried it on two of my many headphones but it was a pretty wide range with the IE80S and the HD800S. While I expected it to drive the IE80S without a problem I didn’t expect it to drive the HD800S so well. To think I got that sound quality out of Bluetooth from my iPhone is just amazing and I do see a lot of potential to use my headphones with the ES100. It is a little too early to give any recommendation other than people should take notice of this little device because so far it is very impressive

Sound Quality

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here. I ordered them on the 9th and they got here on the 14th. Not as quick as advertised when buying

ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

Fantastic performance in a mobile platform. Amazing synergy with specific headphones. The right pairing will leave you gobsmacked at the quality available in a cheap mobile setup. Specifics: I won't go into specifics on specs or functionality, as those are readily available at the Radsone website and other reviews

Battery Life

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

This is the third Corsair product I've encountered issues with, either within a very short amount of time using or out of the box. The wireless function of the headset is nice and convenient, the headset is comfortable, and the audio quality is good AFTER installing iCUE and setting your preferences. The battery life is abysmal. My product had issues out of the box, where it will not charge beyond 78% regardless of how long it is charging, and the battery drains at what seems like a very quick pace (two hours and half that 78% charge is gone)

ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

It’ll wake, connect to BT & then drain it’s battery. The only inconvenient and counterproductive solution I’ve found so far is to toggle my iPhone’s BT to OFF.

Durability

Corsair Void RGB Elite

I can unplug them in the morning and be absolutely certain they will get me through a full work day. If I forget to charge them at night, they will still be fine for at least a few hours the next morning. Their connectivity has been rock solid - never disconnected unless I disconnect them by walking too far away, and then reconnecting instantly. I also love the flip-up micr acting as a mute switch not visible to others on a Zoom call

ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

Also note, I’ll follow and edit if any issues or real concerns crop up b4 the 30 day return. 20 Dec 2018: Unfortunately, I’m going to return the EarStudio, for one reason and one reason only. I’m returning it because it automatically and randomly wakes, connects to my iPhone & drains the battery. It exhibits the same behavior when I try to charge it’s battery up

Price Point

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

These are not worth the price at all. I typically buy headphones that I can switch between gaming and recording audio on, and I can already tell that trying to record music with these is going to be useless. I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here

Fit

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

Comfortable headset for larger head, falls off of smaller heads. The ear cuffs rotate so you can lay the headset flat on the table. The ear cuffs are comfortable and not hot. Decent quality audio and mic

ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

This has been mentioned numerous times before, and needs be taken into consideration. The casing, clip, buttons, jacks, etc., just feel cheap cheap cheap. At no point does the overall fit and finish of this device match its performance

ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

(1/1)

The clincher for me is the ES100's ease of use as a car-based device. One of the issues that I had encountered when trying other BT receivers in the car was making sure the device would be powered on when I started the car and the USB power connected. Most BT receivers time out and turn off automatically and require pushing a button and holding it to power them back on. Since I hide the BT receiver in the console of my car, such a procedure would be frustrating and cumbersome

Noise Cancellation

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

Love this headset! I have a newborn at home and these are perfect for work calls since I am working from home. it is noise cancelling enough and I love that the microphone mutes automatically when you lift it up so if i need to yell something out at home, no one on the call can hear. Would highly recommend

ES100 MK2 Bluetooth Receiver

There are electrical noise benefits for balanced operation, especially for long cables, and there are theoretical benefits from cancelling even harmonic distortion, but I have to admit that for a 6" cable, you are not likely to notice any benefits. However, if you are making your own cable, it's more fun to make a balanced cable which has the best possible results (even if not all of those results are necessarily noticeable from an audio perspective).
