Plantronics Voyager 5200

(1/2)

The Plantronics Voyager 5200 is a mediocre mono Bluetooth headset for phone calls. While the boom mic does an excellent job at separating your voice from background noise, unfortunately, the recording quality is sub-par and your voice sounds muffled and dark. The earbud doesn't enter your ear canal too deeply, making it comfortable to wear for an entire workday and should it start to cause discomfort, you can easily swivel the microphone and use the headset on the other ear. Sound Quality

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here. I ordered them on the 9th and they got here on the 14th. Not as quick as advertised when buying

Plantronics Voyager 5200

(1/3)

I purchased this headset in October 2017 looking for a professional earpiece to use for business calls with my Pixel XL. Excited to try it out over both regular phone lines and IP services like Discord, I asked friends how the quality sounded and I was disappointed to hear that "just sounds like you're talking over the phone." EDIT: To be fair, I never tried the "HD sound" option until I was messing with the app trying to fix my call quality issues detailed in 3rd paragraph. SOME PROS: I will say, however, that the noise cancellation has always been excellent

Battery Life

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

This is the third Corsair product I've encountered issues with, either within a very short amount of time using or out of the box. The wireless function of the headset is nice and convenient, the headset is comfortable, and the audio quality is good AFTER installing iCUE and setting your preferences. The battery life is abysmal. My product had issues out of the box, where it will not charge beyond 78% regardless of how long it is charging, and the battery drains at what seems like a very quick pace (two hours and half that 78% charge is gone)

Plantronics Voyager 5200

but I thought "surely the newer model would have some advancements, like better sound quality or battery life". After using the 5200 for one month, I can say that I haven't had any issues with the sound quality itself, but there are a number of things that I have noticed: 1) Battery life is much worse. With the exact same type of usage, I would say that you get a little more than half of the previous model, which is very disappointing. 2) Connectivity - I had zero issues with the older version, but for some reason the new version when used in my truck will activate the voice control on my radio and will at times keep the voice control on indefinitely, I let it go several times and it didn't complete the search action until I turned the headset off

Durability

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

I can unplug them in the morning and be absolutely certain they will get me through a full work day. If I forget to charge them at night, they will still be fine for at least a few hours the next morning. Their connectivity has been rock solid - never disconnected unless I disconnect them by walking too far away, and then reconnecting instantly. I also love the flip-up micr acting as a mute switch not visible to others on a Zoom call

Plantronics Voyager 5200

(1/1)

At that steep price, I justified my purchase by expecting to be able to use this thing for a long time. To die like it has after 15 months is just sad, I guess it's going in the trash, which I can barely ever doing with my gadgets (usually they just retire to the "old gadgets" drawer). Not going to bother with Plantronics support as I've already tried their suggestions offered in response to other negative reviews, and another reviewer says you have to pay to ship it to them. Screw that, I guess this was just an expensive lesson in discovering another over-rated brand to avoid

Price Point

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

These are not worth the price at all. I typically buy headphones that I can switch between gaming and recording audio on, and I can already tell that trying to record music with these is going to be useless. I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here

Fit

Corsair Void RGB Elite

Comfortable headset for larger head, falls off of smaller heads. The ear cuffs rotate so you can lay the headset flat on the table. The ear cuffs are comfortable and not hot. Decent quality audio and mic

The earbud doesn't enter your ear canal too deeply, making it comfortable to wear for an entire workday and should it start to cause discomfort, you can easily swivel the microphone and use the headset on the other ear. The 6.4-hour battery life falls a bit short of the 7 hours that are advertised, but thanks to its standby mode, it should be more than long enough for an entire work day. While the sound profile isn't well-balanced for music, it's well-tuned for phone calls and voices sound present and detailed, without being harsh or piercing

Plantronics Voyager 5200

Comfort: I wear glasses and I have no problem with ether piece. I wear the 5200 more then 12 hours everyday and a minute or two after I place it on my ear, I don't even know it is there anymore, sometimes I have to feel to see if it fell off.

Noise Cancellation

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

Love this headset! I have a newborn at home and these are perfect for work calls since I am working from home. it is noise cancelling enough and I love that the microphone mutes automatically when you lift it up so if i need to yell something out at home, no one on the call can hear. Would highly recommend

Plantronics Voyager 5200

I have a plantronics Voyager 6200 UC bluetooth earbud that a rep gave me. Its too bass-ey for music but great for speech. I use it on bike rides and turn on the noise cancelling which really reduces the wind noise.
