Sound Quality

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here. I ordered them on the 9th and they got here on the 14th. Not as quick as advertised when buying

Sennheiser HD 600

(I bought some knock off 3rd party replacement pads off Ebay which work perfectly to bring them back) There's not much for me to say about these as they are perfect headphones that deserve to be in everyone's collection. The HD600 is a legendary headphone and rightfully so. When listening, you will hear a full track portrayed with excellent detail, with great resolution. They sound they produce is out of their price level, sounding multiple times their price and the midrange is simply benchmark

Durability

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

I can unplug them in the morning and be absolutely certain they will get me through a full work day. If I forget to charge them at night, they will still be fine for at least a few hours the next morning. Their connectivity has been rock solid - never disconnected unless I disconnect them by walking too far away, and then reconnecting instantly. I also love the flip-up micr acting as a mute switch not visible to others on a Zoom call

Sennheiser HD 600

(1/1)

Great for acoustics in most ways (no need to account for backpressure or the like), but at the cost of treating the missionary one seat over to your collection of Eazy-E. Sennheiser assumes you're listening at home with this can, so they've opted for an open design. BUILD: These are not fashion or luxury headphones. The're light and plasticky with a marbled gloss finish that must have been avant garde in 1998

Price Point

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

These are not worth the price at all. I typically buy headphones that I can switch between gaming and recording audio on, and I can already tell that trying to record music with these is going to be useless. I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here

Sennheiser HD 600

(1/1)

The 600s are the standard by which all reasonably-priced reference headphones should be judged IMO. They are very neutral with a mouth watering, detailed mid-range like few others. Ignore hobbyist's with their strange internet-audio terminology saying: a) they have a "collapsed sound stage", b) are "slow" or not "fast" enough.

Fit

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

Comfortable headset for larger head, falls off of smaller heads. The ear cuffs rotate so you can lay the headset flat on the table. The ear cuffs are comfortable and not hot. Decent quality audio and mic

Sennheiser HD 600

The new production run is a more trendy satin gray color, but also has a chince factor of about 8.5 and does not feel nearly as sturdy. Even the packaging is drastically cheaper on the new ones, and does not come with the nice storage box. If you have a head that is anything wider than "super narrow" these phones will feel like they are squeezing your skull

Sennheiser HD 600

How the headphones look wasn’t important to me and that’s good because the blue plastic material they are made of seems to be a design left over from the 1990’s when these were first produced. They are fairly comfortable, but they do need to be stretched out, as out of the box they clamp your head a little too much. The HD600’s have 300 Ohm impedance, which means they might not play very load with your mobile device; although they play at a very comfortable max volume on my iPhone 6 on most tracks. I wouldn’t want to play them much loader and because of the sound leakage with the open back design I would never take them out of the house anyway

Noise Cancellation

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

Love this headset! I have a newborn at home and these are perfect for work calls since I am working from home. it is noise cancelling enough and I love that the microphone mutes automatically when you lift it up so if i need to yell something out at home, no one on the call can hear. Would highly recommend

A seemingly unrelated issue but in case it helps: There use to be horrible noise from the headphone jack. I used an inline filter which got rid of it but decided that was too cluttery so I went back to the PC audio. Tried the amp headphone jack again recently and there is no more noise (an issue others have complained about with this particular amp). Aside from the annoyance of fighting Windows with USB drivers for it to properly recognize the amp I'm excited to continue this hobby! If this should get reposted to r/heaadphones let me know
