Sound Quality

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here. I ordered them on the 9th and they got here on the 14th. Not as quick as advertised when buying

Sennheiser HD 820

(1/3)

One question that should have arisen in your mind by now is, what exactly does the closed-back design add to the HD820s? I’ve been comparing their sound to open-back headphones because that’s what they sound like, though they’re technically different. Well, the HD820s do give you some of that promised sound isolation, but it’s not much. They’re really only semi-closed. Sound still leaks liberally out of them, and you won’t be able to indulge your audiophile hobby with your significant other sleeping in the same room

Durability

Corsair Void RGB Elite

I can unplug them in the morning and be absolutely certain they will get me through a full work day. If I forget to charge them at night, they will still be fine for at least a few hours the next morning. Their connectivity has been rock solid - never disconnected unless I disconnect them by walking too far away, and then reconnecting instantly. I also love the flip-up micr acting as a mute switch not visible to others on a Zoom call

Price Point

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

These are not worth the price at all. I typically buy headphones that I can switch between gaming and recording audio on, and I can already tell that trying to record music with these is going to be useless. I am returning these and going for the Sennheiser set and hopefully the sound quality, setup and design will be better with those, even though the reviews are kind of terrible too. Also, they took forever to get here

* **Location** \- I'm from Ukraine. [This]([URL REMOVED] site is good for price overview, though it's only Russian and Ukrainian, sadly. The current currency rate is 1 USD ≈ 28 UAH

Fit

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/2)

Comfortable headset for larger head, falls off of smaller heads. The ear cuffs rotate so you can lay the headset flat on the table. The ear cuffs are comfortable and not hot. Decent quality audio and mic

Sennheiser HD 820

(1/1)

95 HDV 820, which I also tested and really didn’t like. This amp and digital converter combo unit is beautifully built, has a great knob feel, and is one of the few amps to support the Pentaconn connector, but its sound lacks the warmth to be enjoyable. Pairing it with bass-shy headphones like the HD820s just leads to an ice-cold presentation with lots of high-frequency detail but not enough low-end rumble. Instead of the HDV, I primarily tested the HD820s with my tried and trusted Schiit Jotunheim, which costs $2,000 less

The Sony is easy to drive! I use the IFI DIABLO with my Sennheiser HD 820 with a 4.4.mm balanced cable and it sounds really good.

Noise Cancellation

Corsair Void RGB Elite

(1/1)

Love this headset! I have a newborn at home and these are perfect for work calls since I am working from home. it is noise cancelling enough and I love that the microphone mutes automatically when you lift it up so if i need to yell something out at home, no one on the call can hear. Would highly recommend

Sennheiser HD 820

(1/1)

Have worn them on 8 flights. They are noise isolating, and frankly good enough where I can enjoy the music. I'm not really a fan of "electronic" headphones. I have felt, when I retire officially these Sennheiser HD820 and my Sony Z1R are my end game headphones
