This is the second time I have purchased this model. I had the first one for many many years and felt that it stood the test of time considering I used it on average once a week. The instant pot works great but I order this on line and it came in a 3 days but the box was badly damage and today I started using it and found out the handle was broken badly.

Just touching that gasket transfers the smell on my hands. If you don't get rid of that smell, it seeps into the food you cook later. I do love how fast it cooks things, but if you're not careful, things will get mushy.

Item states stainless steel inner pot but got the ceramic pot instead :( If you want the stainless steel look elsewhere.

I have used this twice and I think that it gets too hot, although I did not have it 1/2 full and I think maybe I should have gotten the 4 qt size if you need to have the crock 1/2 to 2/3 full

I promptly responded and a day later I received a follow up email with more questions, another test to run, and more images requested. I responded to that one and within minutes received a response noting they can confirm the heating element is not functioning properly and that they would be sending me a new bottom portion of my Instant Pot. Then two days later I got an email saying they are out of stock but that when in stock mine will ship and I will get notification it is on the way. Changed my review from a 1-star to a 3-star because even though I had to reach out a second time to get support, once they were involved they did diagnose the problem and will be sending a replacement

Price was great and does produce good result. You may have to adjust cook timing for your recipes. Good deal!

It almost does not have disadvantage except its price. You can use this product to save time and enjoy home-make food as you want.

I tested the temperature of the unit using my Thermopen thermometer. This thermometer is accurate to less than one degree, traceable to the National Bureau of Standards. I also tested using my Kill-A-Watt power meter. The power meter shows that the power used is as follows: Warm: 62 watts Low: 223 watts High: 251 watts I wrote to Crock Pot's customer support and was told that these wattages are normal and that "Both the Low & High settings cook at 215 degrees F

I rubbed butter and spices under the skin, stuffed with lemons, browned first, placed some whole potatoes and carrots around it, and then cooked. Turned out tender and flavorful but not mushy and gross like crock pot chicken (I put my crockpot away for good!). People ask me what I make in here and I say, anything!! This cooks beautifully however it is quite heavy to carry around while I appreciate the handle it's just too much for me to carry.

The booklet is not really all that handy as I spend a lot of time on line looking for recipes and specific instructions on which button combination to push for certain things but this too shall pass. Overall, it is a nice item. Large. Takes up way too much room to leave out on a counter so if you don't want to sacrifice premium real estate in the kitchen, you are going to need a closet or shelf to put this thing on

.This is my first oval crock pot and the overall quality of the brand seems to have declined and this is also by far the lightest in weight of all of the crock pots I have owned (none of which have failed, one was lost in a move, I cracked the lid of one and couldn't find a replacement, and I broke the stoneware insert on another). The stainless steel shell on this model would be very easy to damage (dents/scratches) although the stoneware insert seems fine

Clean up is also a breeze as the pieces are all dishwasher safe. The 8 quarts is far to big for our family, it’s also too heavy for me to lift, and doesn’t fit in any of my cupboards or pantry, so I’ll have to return it.
