These headphones sound great and are very affordable, but just know what you are getting. If you're looking for some great sounding headphones to listen to around your house using a headphone amp, these would be a great buy. But if you're looking for something to take to the gym, or use at work you'll probably want to look elsewhere. Pros - Excellent sound quality

 I tried listening on my Sony STRDN1080 receiver and I had to crank the volume way up to get them to a decent volume. Open back means they leak a lot of sound, so you probably won't be wearing these out and about. They come with a rather short cord. I'm sure you can buy an extension, but the one that's included is pretty short

 Really nice and balanced sound. Comfortable. The headphones themselves are rather large, but they are still pretty comfortable. Affordable for audiophile headphones

Nice sound, but not for the casual listener

 All-day comfortable with ease (they can get a tiny bit warm with the alcantara pads in a hot room, but not even close to unacceptable) and utterly zero squeaks or creaks (looking at you, Audio Technica AD700's)  The one, ONLY gripe I have with them is the nice cable they have is too short for anything other than a desktop amp or device RIGHT in front of you. BUT, it's replaceable, and lots of companies make cables for them. Side benefit is you can get a balanced cable for them, and if you get a BTR5 as well, that amp has a balanced output option. So they can sound EVEN BETTER

 My wife disagrees, but I think movies sound punchier and more intimate on grado cans. And they have the side benefit of letting two people listen to something and just talk like nothing since they leak like mad. But again, all round? These babies, hands down.

 My Samsung phone + a cheap dongle, no problem. I HIGHLY recommend buying a Fiio BTR5 as well if you don't have any audiophile gear, as it'll turn these into wireless bluetooth headphones, let you run a balanced cable, has a microphone, a DAC with EQ, and works as a wired desktop amp. Little bit of a spend, but cannot recommend enough.  The soundstage isn't the BIGGEST I've heard, but it's still enormous

Um, yeah. These are just the business and an eyewatering value.

 It's not long enough for comfortable PC/ living room AV receiver use for me, so I ordered a replacement cable when I bought the headphone. The replacement cable is that red one that everybody else is buying. I clipped the "braided" part off, and now they're really cool looking red cables. They click really nicely into the headphones - better click than the stock cable

 Customer service is not amazing. Warranty is nothing special.  Oh, and the stock cable is a cable. It's not great

 Where my AKG K240S's were unable to give me bass where I knew there should be some, the HiFiMan HE-4XX gave me back my missing bass, without "muddying" the trebles, but, at the same time, the treble doesn't have that "sparkle" (another term I now actually understand after reading all those audiophile forums) that my AKG had. Very well could be because I tore all the foam and mesh out of my AKG to make them more open and airy. I hesitate to make any modifications to the HE-4XX, but I've seen some mods floating around regarding taking out the filters, etc. We'll see - I don't really like the idea of hairs/dust getting into these drivers

 I'm willing to do that. They sound good enough that I don't want to not have them, and I really don't want to pay for shipping on..

 From the background instruments, it was able to do that separation as well as instrumental separation. Within the background very, very well um, this isn't really a headphone that does forward imaging very well. It does tend to stay in between, like the left and right side, desperately move to the front or to the back me very easily.  So if you have a small head, this may not actually fit you, although, if you're medium to large, this should fit. You just fine. Very very comfortable, in my opinion, the headband does a good job of spreading the weight across the entire top of your head, not just on one or two particular places, and I think that's a huge benefit. The ear pads are slightly angled, so there is kind of a forward and a back orientation for the ear pads, they're fake leather on the outside and what feels like, microfiber on the inside part that touches around your ear

 These sound amazing they're, warm. They have great sound Sage, they have very, very rich vocals and they have a great surrounding delivery and I'll kind of explain what I mean by that now I will say that highs are definitely not the focus of the sound here. They'Re not extensively detailed or resolving, but they still have a bit of authority behind them. They'Re, never bright, they're, never sibling, but it just doesn't really seem like that was the focus of the sound

The $129.99 Cloud Alpha S&nbsp;gaming headset&nbsp;is HyperX's attempt to inject some more power and appeal into the unassuming&nbsp;Cloud Alpha&nbsp;by adding a 7.1-channel USB sound card and a set of switches on the earcups that can boost bass response, all for just $30 more. The upgrades work as advertised, but the Cloud Alpha S maintains the same mids-focused, unsubtle sound signature of the Cloud Alpha, and the additional bass isn&rsquo;t enough to really bring the thunder

Playing Doom (2016) with the Cloud Alpha S is satisfying, with the guns, rockets, and demon snarls sounding appropriately powerful, with plenty of low-mid presence. The headset doesn&rsquo;t reach low enough into the sub-bass to really sound thunderous, but it&rsquo;s full and loud, with plenty of midrange detail. Mick Gordon&rsquo;s industrial metal score sounds excellent through the headset, with all of the music&rsquo;s sinister sludginess coming through.

The bass switches on the Cloud Alpha S can produce a slightly more powerful sense of sub-bass response, but not enough to rattle your head no matter what setting you use. In our bass test track, The Knife&rsquo;s &ldquo;Silent Shout,&rdquo; the bass synth and kick drum sounded poppy but fairly light with the bass switches closed, and produced some solid resonance with the switches open. The thumps aren&rsquo;t palpable, but they also don&rsquo;t distort even at maximum volume levels.

 The bottom of the left earcup also holds the connectors for the detachable boom mic and the 3.5mm headset cable.

 The new pair had the same problem so I figured out why from Tom's Hardware Guide. Don't buy Hyper X, go with a company that actually knows how to make headsets for gamers.

 This is due to the way that Kingston manufactures the Cloud Alphas. Supposedly they use a 4 pole connector which means that your speakers' wire and mic's wire end up touching a ground wire in the cord which in turn makes your headphone audio appear as mic input to your computer. So unless you want to mess with mic sensitivities in the settings for your voice chat app (which doesn't make the problem go away, but lessens it to an extent) I would recommend not buying this headset and I would probably avoid all wired headsets from Hyper X as well because they all are manufactured this way. I contacted Hyper X and they said that this was bad wiring in the headset so I sent them in and they sent me a new pair

To that point, I'm looking for something in a similar price range as the SHP9600 (maybe not the SHP9500, since I don't know if I'll experience more of the same) at around $100 - $150 USD that will fit someone with a larger head comfortably. I also am looking for something with a detachable AUX cable so that I'm able to use this V-Moda Boom Pro mic that I got for both gaming and general voice chat. One person I was speaking to had recommended the AT AD700X, but did not know if the AUX cable was removable.

**Budget -** $100 - $150 USD. I would prefer not to spend more than $150 if possible, and obviously anything close to the lower end of my range is preferred.

Looking for a DAC/AMP combo for my HD 600. I don't want to spend more than a few hundred euros. Sometimes music sounds a bit “dull” if that makes any sense? Just not very vibrant. I like that the headband length and ear cups adjust but not the headband itself as it quickly cracked and peeled.

*Kingston HyperX Cloud II* (I was pretty happy with these. They ran hot on my ears after long sessions, though. The cable was too long and was prone to fraying as i'm frequently twisting and turning at my desk. They started to give out quickly and I stopped being satisfied with the microphone. The body was sturdy, though, and I really liked that.)

*Steelseries Arctis 7* - These were fine. The mic was lackluster and the delay in relaying sound killed my gameplay.

*Logitech G935* (I hated these. They were extremely hot on my ears and I wasn't a fan of the sound.)

**Preferred Music:** Pretty varied here, to be honest. I listen to a lot of indie rock, indie pop and singer-songwriter. I also listen to a lot of classic rock/grunge/garage band type stuff.  Don't really listen to rap or R&B but some of the aforementioned genres have really great bass lines that i'd hate to miss out on.

**What would you like to improve on from your set-up:** I got my current headphones refurbished and i've been using them for several years. They're falling apart. I have a constant buzz on the left earcup. I tried switching back to the Arctis but the delay on the audio really messes with me during faster-paced games. I've been considering just buying another pair of the Audio Technicas but wondered if there were better options.

My Koss Porta Pro causes buttons to press randomly on my phone, especially when the plug moves. It doesn't happen with KZ ZSN Pro or AT M40x, neither have mic. Why does this happen?

Looking for headphones that have more bass and can produce louder sounds than my Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds.. Earbuds in my experience have way more bass than the headphones I used in the past (non-amp headphones).

I guess my main question is can headphones + amps produce louder music with more bass? I have my spotify volume and laptop volume at 100, still doesn't feel loud enough for my jabra elite earbuds.

My friend just got the **Beyerdynamic dt pro 990** and a **sterling sha4 headphone amp**. 

The cable connecting the amp to the pc is a  **livewire elite interconnect cable**. 

The headphones sound great when doing everything else except gaming, but when he starts gaming there is a loud buzzing sound/crackling in the background of the game sound. I don't know much about studio headsets and audio. 

Does anyone know the potential problem?

I have decided on the "[Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 600Ohm](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0024NK34O/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1J7WSBJHTGUFA)"  Headphones. I'm having a hard time picking an AMP and DAC. I've done  some reading and research and numbers aren't my strong suit, having a  hard time deciding what would be best and I was hoping I could get some  help!

Maybe something else to consider, along with the DT990's I'll be purchasing a [Blue Spark Blackout XL SLR Microphone](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074379C7Q/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2LXBKOLL3J3K6)  to help complete my setup. If there is an AMP + DAC or Hybrid that will  support both to help save on cost that would be fantastic!

Maybe something else to consider, along with the DT990&#39;s I&#39;ll be purchasing a <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074379C7Q/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_3?ie=UTF8&amp;psc=1&amp;smid=A2LXBKOLL3J3K6">Blue Spark Blackout XL SLR Microphone</a> to help complete my setup. If there is an AMP + DAC or Hybrid that will support both to help save on cost that would be fantastic!

Newbie requesting help choosing a DAC module.

**Use**: I’m planning to use my new headphones chiefly to melt my brain with music, but they will also be my primary listeners for gaming and movies on my computer+TV combo.

After years of day-dreaming about heavenly eargasms, I finally pulled the trigger on a decent set of headphones, but now I’m having a serious case of analysis-paralysis in my hunt for an amp and DAC. Bear in mind, I’ve been living with a $35 walmart gaming headset for years, so my ears are convent-level virgins.

Right now, I’m leaning towards the Jotunheim 2, but am stymied by the choice of DAC module. From what I’ve read, the Multibit is either stupendous at highlighting the layers of a soundstage and will change the way I listen to music forever, or is complete and total music-ruining Schiit propaganda. Or do I go with the AK4490 module that, depending on who you ask, provides a more neutral and accurate depiction of the instruments, or is all-schiit-DACs-are-garbage-you-fucking-shill-go-kill-yourself.

If I do stick with something from Schiit, would it be worth it to skip the dual amp/DAC and splurge on a Bifrost 2/Magnius stack? Would my completely uninitiated ears be able to tell the difference?

Or perhaps Schiit really is terrible and I should go for a completely different set-up.

Please, help guide this neophyte out of the quagmire of interference curves and partisan bickering. I just want something that sounds "good" and gives me wiggle-room down the road. Any advice would be extremely appreciated. Many thanks!

**Preferred Music:** I listen to a wide variety of stuff, e.g. Woodkid, Gorillaz, retrosynth, game soundtracks, and I play games.  
**What would you like to improve from your set-up:** Not really being an expert on audio but *really* enjoying a good sound, I feel like more is needed. I don't really want the gimmicks that the Logitech G series and other gaming headsets offer (I don't need all those buttons) so I'm open to just using a headphone + attached microphone instead. It just needs to be comfortable after hours of use and fit nicely on my big skull. The Logitech G933 actually worked nicely with that.

Trying to figure out what to get with Christmas money. Budget is around $150 tops, but I could go a bit over. I would prefer some decent isolation, since I want something that I can use to listen to music between classes and around the house. I'm almost always going to be using my phone to play music from. I had a pair of Moondrop Starfield IEM's, and I loved them, but unfortunately they were stolen. I have also used BOSE Soundlink wireless headphones, and enjoyed the isolation but thought the audio quality was not worth the price. I don't really know what my tonal preference is. I listen to a pretty wide variety of music, e.g., hip-hop/rap, classical, jazz fusion, folk punk, and doom metal, so I think a more balanced signature would be best, but I don't know. I suggested getting a pair of over ear ones, but she says she is not a fan of those for some reason and she is also afraid that the over ear part would not fit her small ear. I also want to use it with my home theatre receiver that has a 6.35 jack as the only possible output. I would be watching tv and playing console video games through my receiver. I have tried one Bluetooth headset with a Bluetooth transmitter hooked up to the receiver, but realized I needed headphones with aptx-low latency to avoid lip sync problems. There is however a limited selection of headphones with aptx-LL that also have good mica. I wouldn’t use the mic very often but want the option in case I game with friends. I know already that the mic would not work with my current idea of going through the receiver but I could have plugging the headset directly into the controller as a backup for that if I stay with Bluetooth. 

Wireless RF headsets have a much better selection along with very low latency. I don’t know however if I could use a usb to 6.35 jack to connect a wireless headphone to my receiver. It is an Onkyo receiver. 

Is there a way to connect a wireless headset to my receiver through a dongle or should I just go down the aptx-LL path?

I've noticed they get louder when I hook them up to my phone, which is weird because I'd expect a high end computer/motherboard to be able to drive them better but I dunno.

Will an amp allow them to go louder or even sound better? Can I get a high quality amp for $200 or less? or would a sound card be a good option for me?

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 SR, paired with a FiiO E10K. I absolutely love them. They sound amazing with everything I throw at them. Unfortunately, I ran them over with my chair and now the band has a crack that is slowly getting worse. Rip me. Anyways I'm looking to upgrade. My usage is  about 80/20 Gaming/Music and Podcasts. I really love these headphones. The only thing I dislike about them is maybe their lack of bass, but even then I'm not really complaining as I don't listen to much hiphop or trap so it's not super important. I'm not really a huge audiophile, so forgive my lack of knowledge.

My question is, what do I upgrade to? I'm looking for really, more of everything that the 598 offers. I like the wide soundstage and these are easily the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. I have been looking at the HD 600 and the HD 660's. I dont' have any experience with other brands, so I don't know what else is out there. Would these be a worthy upgrade? <div class="md">I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 SR, paired with a FiiO E10K. I absolutely love them. They sound amazing with everything I throw at them. Unfortunately, I ran them over with my chair and now the band has a crack that is slowly getting worse. Rip me. Anyways I&#39;m looking to upgrade. My usage is about 80/20 Gaming/Music and Podcasts. I really love these headphones. The only thing I dislike about them is maybe their lack of bass, but even then I&#39;m not really complaining as I don&#39;t listen to much hiphop or trap so it&#39;s not super important. I&#39;m not really a huge audiophile, so forgive my lack of knowledge.

My question is, what do I upgrade to? I&#39;m looking for really, more of everything that the 598 offers. I like the wide soundstage and these are easily the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. I have been looking at the HD 600 and the HD 660&#39;s. I dont&#39; have any experience with other brands, so I don&#39;t know what else is out there. Would these be a worthy upgrade? I&#39;m not looking to replace my DAC, but I&#39;m sure I would get more use out of it paired with a more powerful headphone.

I also don't love the "I'm in a void" feel.

I then thought about the M40x, since they were a much more comfortable price and some people said they were much better. However other people said they were worse, so I am a bit at a loss there. I've also heard complains about both of them in terms of comfort, which was worrying.

Another important point is the microfone. I was thinking of getting the Boompro Microphone that just connects to the headphones, since I heard that was a pretty solid mic. That means, however, that headphones with non-detachable cable are a no-go, like the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, which looked really good (although expensive) but sadly has no detachable cable... Is the Boompro Mic even a good choice our would I be better off with something else? Is there a really good headset with mic already included that I am not aware of?

 I really want to purchase the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO headphones for listening to music and gaming. However, I don't know anything about audio or what I need. I know that an AMP and DAC would improve the quality of them, but it seems rather expensive purchasing everything at once. Some people recommended starting with just an AMP so I was thinking of getting the LOXJIE P20 Full Balance Tube Amplifier as it had good reviews and was pretty cheap. My question is, what do I need to connect this all together? Will the headphones plug into the AMP without purchasing extra cables? How does the AMP then plug into my PC? Do I need a soundcard inside of my PC as I do not. Any help would be highly appreciated as I am a complete beginner :)

Best gaming headset under 300?

I’m looking to buy a new headset but I’m lost with all the options. 

I have mouse and keyboard that are razer, so I was thinking of getting those but I don’t know if they are really worth the $200. I also came across some corsair headphones that I really liked but I’m still unsure. While looking at headsets under 200, I came across the new bose headphones that are closer to 300 but I remember a friend of mine that had them and I loved them, only thing is that I dont know if they would be good for gaming as well. 
Here is what I’m looking for:

Preferably under 200 but willing to go up to 300 for a really good headset

Must have mic

Has to look nice

Wireless AND cable

I will not be wearing then outside but if I could I wouldnt mind it

They have to cover my ears fully, meaning the ear would fit inside them without touching the pad(I guess I could just say they have to be comfy)

just bought a pair of Corsair HS70's and I didn't expect greatness but they are terrible sounding.

I'm looking for a wireless headset that doesn't have garbage headphone quality or alternatively an add-on microphone that works better than the ModMiC that's compatible with my headphones.  
I tried pairing my 280's with a ModMic but got poor results with 4 different soundcards. Always too much white noise when the volume is brought up to reasonable levels.  Tested with two high end add in cards, 1 onboard, and an xbox controller, same issue for all 4.  
I've tried an omnidirectional desk mic but my neighbors' dogs are too loud for me to get away with it.  
I've tried an SM57 on a boom arm but it picks up the sound leaking from my headphones and other background noise while losing volume if I move from side to side.   
I've tried two  "gaming" products in the way of the wireless corsair void elite and the H70 pro wireless. The void elite are too big to stay on my head and the H70's sound like piss to my ears starting to feel hopeless .

**Budget:** I don't wanna skimp out, but also not invest a fortune. A good 200€ with a hard limit at 300€. As for an Amp I'd like to stay around 100€.

**Source:** Without an Amp, I'd be plugging them into my PC (Mainboard ROG Crosshair VIII Hero). But an Amp is also something I'm interested in.

 **Requirements for Isolation:** I intend to use them exclusively at home on my PC. They shouldn't block out outside noises completely.

Their low end is depending on the song a bit better or worse, but they have a very clear sound, without sounding muddled or muffled in any frequency range.

Hey fellow redditors, I am looking to **get an AMP** for the **Massdrop/Sennheiser HD 6XX**. They are my first (and, if manage to control myself, hopefully last) pair of headphones that one would describe audiophile grade. **I am wondering whether I should first go for a good solid-state AMP or directly invest in a tube AMP**.

Currently I am using my parents old gear for the most part, that is a **Kenwood KR-A5020 Stereo Receiver (about 30yrs old)** and plug my 6XX' into the integrated headphone output. I don't really have any other headphone AMP that isn't integrated into my PC or phone so I have no clue if it's any good or what type of equipment would give me an audible level up. All I know is that the 6XX' sound really good to me in my current setup. But I also have never heared any other headphone AMP or audiophile grade headphone.

I heared that the 6XX really come to show with a nice tube AMP but I wonder if I shouldn't get a better solid-state AMP beforehand as a base to compare it to, since tube AMPs distort the sound and might even sound worse to me with my music than a good solid-state AMP.

So hopefully someone can give me some recommendations which AMPs I should consider that pair nicely with the 6XX. Also some reference to how good the headphone AMP in my Kenwood Receiver could be, compared with current gen headphone AMPs would be nice.

For christmas my fiance got me the Disney Beats Solo 3 Headphones. I have the cord that goes with the beats and the audio is fine. As soon as i use the bluetooth function to connect to my phone, the audio is reversed. Left sound is on right, vice versa. Please help, because its driving me nuts. And yes im wearing them on the correct sides.

I have several questions. I am planning to buy Sony WH-1000XM4s and wanted to know it's impedance. Does it differ when it's connected through a cable? Does it affect it's impedance if I turn on the active noise cancellation?

Posted before but I did some more research and wondering if I would like Fidelio X2HRs, SHP9500s or maybe even the Massdrop HD 58X compared to my ATH-M50xs. The main reason I want to go to openbacks is breathability and hearing around me. (kinda obvious though) I also don't like IEMs.  


I listen to a lot of J-Pop/Rock so it's vocal heavy. The M50x is my first "big boy" headphones when I used Monoprice DJ headphones before them, so I don't have a huge experience with audiophile equipment.  


I don't have an AMP so I'd need something around the same driving force as the M50x too. Around the same price would also be nice because I can't afford to drop 300+ on headphones. Edit: Even if I could find some mesh pads that don't kill the soundstage of my M50x's would be nice.

I was looking at the Drop THX Panda Wireless headphones and from the reviews they seem to be a very solid pair of wireless headphones.

   - **Preferred Type of Headphone** - CIEM. Emphasis on custom. I have weird ears. Yes, I have tried *[your favourite brand of memory foam tip]* and no, they aren't comfortable and they don't stay in my ears.

   - **Preferred tonal balance** - Harman neutral with a bass boost to cut through the rumble of bus tyres/plane noise. Usually prefer a notch around 5-7kHz to smooth away sibilance.

   - **Past headphones** - Love the bass on my A3H Pro V2 but the midrange sounds a bit veiled and the treble is a bit artificial. For home listening I am very happy with my Oppo PM2 (although I use a bit of EQ to get it closer to Harman). Would consider my JBL LSR305P MkII speakers the gold standard for tonality.

   - **Preferred Music** - Mostly indie rock and hip-hop.

I'm a music producer, and for the past year, year and a half, i've been experiencing a problem with right side speaker on my headphones. It keeps distorting, specifically with snares/claps, and bass.

I thought this was an issue with my previous headphones (Audio-Technica ATH-M50 X), because maybe the speaker had broken or something like that, so i decided to get new headphones and an audio interface for christmas. (Beyerdynamic DT- 770 Pro 32 Ohm and Audient iD14, respectively), and i got them 2 days ago.

I setup the iD14, plugged in my headphones, started opened up a few projects and started listening through them... And i still have the same issue, snares/claps and bass start distorting after a while, sounds like there's a bitcrusher attached to the right side speaker, and the only thing that i've found that makes it go away is giving a smack on the right side speaker, and that makes it go away for a while.

Now, i personally don't enjoy hitting the speaker to make it not distort, so i'd like to know, what is going on? Why is this still an issue, even with a new pair of headphones and an audio interface? This issue is really driving me crazy so i'd be very grateful if anyone could give me sometype of advice on this.

Budget: hard limit of $45 

I'm using these via Bluetooth with a phone 

I don't need much isolation at all as these are to be used when I'm talking with other people for the most part 

I'm looking for beanie headphones that aren't general brand Chinese knock offs. Very heavily wanting them to be on Amazon where my accounts are already set up. 

Tonal balance doesn't specifically matter as these are my "cheap" pair of headphones of which I need a replacement for 

I've used skullcandy crusher 360's, skullcandy crushers, aftershokz bone conduction headphones, and general brand over the ear headphones. I like the bass but know that this is not the focus for these pair of headphones

Hi, im new to the audio community, ive been looking for a nice pair of wireless headphones, at first I was looking at sonys XM4's. More recently ive been looking at the panda THX, ive seen mostly good reviews on it but there have been some less positive reviews on it. i dont care about things like anc or gimmicks like it, im just looking for good wireless sound. I was just hopping to get some different opinions and maybe see if their was a different headphone that i could pick up, thanks in advance.

 Two Audio Inputs on PC?

I need to have two input sources hooked up to my computer, can I use a splitter for the mic jack for two lines? how about one Bluetooth headset and the other a wired standing mic?

Hello! I'm new to this community and to HiFi in general. I have a question that I cannot find an answer for.

I mainly use headphones and I'm currently using HD6XX's. I was using the Magni Heresy as my headphone amplifier and I know it can be used as a preamp as well. My father has an Optimus SA-155 amp and it's meh, but it seriously amplifies bass and the overall low end. Which makes up for the lack of in the HD6XX's.

Can I run the heresy to the optimus to get the benefits of the clarity and the added bass safely? If I do, should I watch out for anything?

I recently ordered HD 560S when I finally found one in stock and I was wondering if BTR3K can power them reasonably well until I can get a dedicated desktop amplifier. Also are they balanced out of the box (I know that they come with SE cable only).

I'm thinking of giving the Koss Porta Pros with YAXI earpads a try (my first venture into hi-fi audio). Which DAC and/or Amp can you recommend to go along with it and get me started? I'd be hooking it up to my desktop PC (built last year). Would the DAC on my motherboard (MSI Tomahawk B450) suffice?

Hi, i'm looking for some basic headphones I can use for online classes and listening to music, with decent sound quality, but nothing too fancy. 

I'd like them to be comfortable, as I tend to study with music or on a meeting most of the day. 

Also, and this is super important, I need bluetooth headphones, just because I find them a lot more freeing and comfortable to use.

I saw a pair of **JBL Tune 500bt headphones** on sale, and they have very mixed reviews, so im wondering if anyone knows if those are worth it or not.

I am not sure if this is the right sub for my question. If not then sorry... I am looking for a PC Headset that has bigger earcups. The ones I have tried out are a bit to small for my ears and lead to discomfort and real hot ears after an hour... Currently I use a Steel Series Arctis 7, that kinda works but is uncomfortable, also it tends to switch off after 30 Minutes while in the middle of a zoom call... Which ist kinda not ideal... Can anyone recommend something wireless to me?

My Steelseries Arctis 7 just broke and I need a new pair of headphones.

I've been looking at a few hyperx headphones (cloud 2, cloud alpha s, cloud flight s) but cant settle on something that I find right. I looked at the razer blackshark v2 as well, but I am finding a lot of mixed reviews (some say it's amazing, others say it is lackluster)

I know a general response is mostly "gaming headphones suck", and that's exactly why I am here XD I don't care about a microphone as I already have a consdenser mic on my desktop, so don't need one. I am unfortuantely not too informed on non-gaming headphones. Something that I have noticed with the very few non gaming headphones I used is that they didn't have such a snug/tight fit and felt kinda loose.

So the specs I am looking for:

    I mostly use my headset for gaming (dota 2) and then using teamspeak to talk to friends. (gaming is my main priority of use)
    I also use it to listen to music through the day and watching netflix and youtube.
    I would prefer wireless (not sure if that is as common in non-gaming headphones?)
    I need the earcups to have fabric cups/interchangable cups (the leatherette gets too hot here in the summer XD)
    I like headphones that fit quite snug and cups that are fully over the ear.
    Strong build quality (preferably metal frame like steelseries arctis/ hyperx cloud)

I prefereably don't want to go over $200, but can push to $270 if there is a clear winner in that price range. I live in south africa, so will probably need to ship from amazon if I can't find locally (which would mean I need to calculate shipping into above price, which can be around $50).

Sadly my headphones are breaking slowly (One side has a loose contact).

I currently have the "Panasonic RP-HD10" and I thoroughly like them. I mostly listen to electronic music (Dark and bass-y).

Does anyone have a recommendation for me for headphones that are similar to the HD10 and/or good for dark electronic music? Oh, and because I am in this subreddit I should probably add that my budget is <300€. Thanks in advance!

The audio is good if connected directly to the board; if I use the USB interface the bass goes away but I get to control the audio and mute the mic on the fly. What I don't the cable (without the interface) is really short. Also I tend to get up a lot a move around, which makes me want to purchase a wireless headset
* **Preferred Music** \- Uh a little all over really. Mostly it's rock and hip-hop, sometimes it's metal and techno. I also play a lot of games but none need the gamer gimmicks (7.1 et al, stereo suffices)

I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 600s, and I picked up a FiiO E10K as a budget option, but the big issue that I have with it are the lack of Nintendo Switch support, and the lack of chatmix (being able to have seperate audio devices for voice and video chat, which I can change the balance of) which I had on my old Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless.

I'm wondering, what would be a good DAC/AMP that can drive 300 ohm headphones such as the HD 600s, while having support for both PC and consoles (preferably through a switchable input that doesn't require unplugging and plugging in with another device (although a USB switcher could be an option, assuming it doesn't interfere with audio quality or add noticeable latency)?
