Sound Quality

Drop + HIFIMAN HE4XX

My wife disagrees, but I think movies sound punchier and more intimate on grado cans. And they have the side benefit of letting two people listen to something and just talk like nothing since they leak like mad. But again, all round? These babies, hands down.

Since there’s no seal, the bass needs to be boosted drastically in order to be heard at a normal level—but if the fit varies slightly between your left and right ears, the bass levels will seem off. The point of this design is so that you can hear your surroundings clearly, but we’ve found monitor modes in other pairs of earphones (which use a microphone to let your hear what's around you) to be far more effective than this unsealed approach.

Fit

Drop + HIFIMAN HE4XX

(1/1)

It's not long enough for comfortable PC/ living room AV receiver use for me, so I ordered a replacement cable when I bought the headphone. The replacement cable is that red one that everybody else is buying. I clipped the "braided" part off, and now they're really cool looking red cables. They click really nicely into the headphones - better click than the stock cable

Skullcandy Push Ultra

I am a picky headphone/ear bud person. I have a half dozen sets lying around abandoned because they failed me in some way. I was looking for sweat proof wireless ear buds for walking/running outside. I was not looking for complete noise cancellation like my standard head phones as I wanted to be able to hear traffic and the approach of nefarious types but still be able to hear my music or podcasts

They lose connection sometimes if you have one ear bud in and the other in your pocket and sit down, but idk if that’s an issue that a lot of people would encounter. They stay in my ears pretty well while I’m working (before one broke) Very disappointed. I have a pair of over the head wireless headphones from skull candy that have served me wonderfully for 6 years now (and has another pair before that from them too), I expected these to be the same quality but they are not.
