These headphones sound great and are very affordable, but just know what you are getting. If you're looking for some great sounding headphones to listen to around your house using a headphone amp, these would be a great buy. But if you're looking for something to take to the gym, or use at work you'll probably want to look elsewhere. Pros - Excellent sound quality

Sony WH-CH710N

99, the headphones certainly aren't cheap, but they're about half as much as you'll pay for a high-end model from Bose (or Sony for that matter). Accordingly, the ANC here is good, not great, and the audio performance features robust bass and crisp highs, but feels a bit too sculpted at times. That said, you're still getting above-average ANC and a solid sonic experience for the price, making the the WH-CH710N a strong alternative to the pricier Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 and Sony WH-1000XM3.

My wife disagrees, but I think movies sound punchier and more intimate on grado cans. And they have the side benefit of letting two people listen to something and just talk like nothing since they leak like mad. But again, all round? These babies, hands down.

That said, these straightforward over-ears have a fairly versatile overall performance.

Comfort

Drop + HIFIMAN HE4XX

All-day comfortable with ease (they can get a tiny bit warm with the alcantara pads in a hot room, but not even close to unacceptable) and utterly zero squeaks or creaks (looking at you, Audio Technica AD700's) The one, ONLY gripe I have with them is the nice cable they have is too short for anything other than a desktop amp or device RIGHT in front of you. BUT, it's replaceable, and lots of companies make cables for them. Side benefit is you can get a balanced cable for them, and if you get a BTR5 as well, that amp has a balanced output option. So they can sound EVEN BETTER

Sony WH-CH710N

They are very comfortable over my ears. What I like the most is they are light in weight. Sony did an awesome job. I love the life of the batteries and they very comfy especially when I wear them for a long period of time

Fit

Drop + HIFIMAN HE4XX

(1/1)

It's not long enough for comfortable PC/ living room AV receiver use for me, so I ordered a replacement cable when I bought the headphone. The replacement cable is that red one that everybody else is buying. I clipped the "braided" part off, and now they're really cool looking red cables. They click really nicely into the headphones - better click than the stock cable

Sony WH-CH710N

However, there is a major drawback. These over-ear headphones feel slightly tight and uncomfortable pressing against the ear, with mediocre padding. And I don't think I have a giant head or enormous ears. I think if you were to wear them for an extended period of time (maybe 4+ hours/day) you might develop hotspots

Customer service is not amazing. Warranty is nothing special. Oh, and the stock cable is a cable. It's not great

Sony WH-CH710N

Called Sony customer support "nothing they can do". Amazon customer service was helpful in getting me in touch, but the Sony folks said defective products aren't covered under warranty. $200 headphones shouldn't have plastic so cheap it cracks after a week. Don't waste your money

I received my headphones on 1/11/2021 and the battery failed on 1/16/2021. It worked good for less than one hour.
